I'm quite angry, and hoping very much that somebody could help me solve this problem.
One of my fav game from my childhood was Alone In The Dark 2. I loved that, and thought I could just manage to get it and play with it again. For nostalgy we can say.
First of all it was a nightmare to get it. I just couldn't dl it from nowhere. Finally, I managed to dl it. And the game was just... bugged or I dunno. At the start I would have to push a statue away, and I just can't do that. It doesn't move at all.
So I searched again, and finally found another rar file of the game. Dled it and yea, it's okay, cause I can push the statue away, no bug, but it runs slowly for some reason. It lags. I dl-ed an emulator (DosBox) for it, but it still runs slowly. I push forward and it takes one step after five seconds.
How could I just make it run perfectly?

when it comes to emu's i know a little bit about them, i can make the nintendo DS and gamecube run at full speed but i'm not sure what Emu you have, i'd need to experiement with it and that will probably take to much time so i've got a little advice on what to do.

check the emulators forum website, see what people have posted about its speeds, and how to improve them, also check to see if there are any alternative emulators you can use because sometimes other ones that do the same can work so much better for some reason.

if you can't find anything on their forums about improving then ask yourself in a new topic, you should be able to get an answer but be sure to post up your pc specs for them because it may just be your computer, although if it was running fine before but it was bugged then something is messing about.


i know its not much but this is what i'd do if i were in your situation

DosBox in its normal configuration emulates a relatively slow CPU to make sure very old apps wont run too fast. It is however possible to step up or step down the CPU cycles with Ctrl-F12 and Ctrl-F11, and thereby speed up the emulation.
