hey boys and girls,
i happen to spend my days at night. only when ive got stuff to do in the morning (which happens quite rarely since i study and dont have to attend every lecture) i force my sleep-rhythm to fit into that schedule.
i just wanted to know if some of you "suffer" from the same stuff as i do and how you cope with it... i wonder if its some kind of disease or psychological disorder...

ok, seriously, I used to have some problems with sleeping during exam periods... that's because of stress & too much adrenaline ... try exercising (running, swimming, bike...) in the afternooon so that you are really tired when you go to bed ... if it doesn't help take pills. There's plenty of pills with all natural ingredients (like lemon balm, valerian, peppermint...) that do no harm to your body.

Usually I go to bed at 4AM to 7AM, wake up in the afternoon. I have been going to bed after midnight since I was a kid. I'm having trouble with waking up, I am tired all day but I DO stay awake at night. I have no idea if it's psychological or whatever, but I'm so used to it, it's hard to flip my schedule/rhythm.

I'm pretty much the same as you Les when it comes to sleeping, even if i'm having green i'll still have problems getting to bed, and i dont really even have anything to wake up for the next day (i don't mean that in an emo way) just i've not got a job or anything at the moment.
If things get really bad i'll end up just staying up all night then through to the next day, but then you can really fuck it up by falling asleep in the afternoon.
I aint sure what it is that makes me like that.

There's probably nothing wrong with you. Today's society is built after the notion that every human being is exactly the same, which is just bullshit. Going to work from 8 to 4 or 9 to 5 etc isn't for everybody. Some people just can't go to bed before midnight to get up early. I know several people who just can't sleep at night. Some just have another rhythm.

Just get really drunk, you'll wake up early and thirsty.
or get really high and sleep (your gonna sleep eventually) and will wake up very late.

Sounds to me like you guys have gotten your body into a certain rhythm over the years and can't break out of it. I guess you should try and break it slowly, go to bed a bit earlier every night or something.
I've had similar problems for shorter periods but they tend to go away! Like Chavah says exercise is excellent for getting a good nights kip.

If you wanna fix you sleep schedule just have a good sleep and then try to stay up for 36-40 hours before you go to bed.
The crucial part is to manage to try to stay up between 18-22 hours after this point you'll be fine.
I do that every time my sleep schedule is fucked up and it works every time.
Another way is to do what Electronic_Punk said.
