Hey guys i wanted to overclock my CPU its this shitty 1.8ghz AMD Sempron 3400+ but i've got 4gb of ram (win 7 64bit) and a 1gb PCI Express nvidia graphics card, when i built this pc i made the shitty mistake of buying all the stuff before the processor (it was years ago) but i'd love to reach even just 2ghz with this processor until i've got the funds to build a new pc, if anyone has experience in this field of work could they help a cogg out ? :)

Really doubt youd actually see much, if any, performance boost to be honest, the Sempron will still be bottlnecking everything

Invest more for an actual cpu and buy it - not the fastest one, but a cpu that fits good to your graphics card - 2/4 core or shit like that .... I mean better pay something more than have the risk to destroy the complete pc, cos finally you have to buy all new components .... the same I need to do next year

GPU - great
RAM, CPU, Mainboard - lame ....
BUT new CPU, Mainboard and RAM will cost me 180 € - but it´s worth it, cos the PC is way faster ....

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1858 - £120

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... ubcat=1858 - £185

(id get the 2nd one personally and sell off your old mobo, RAM and CPU)

You mihgt also need a new PSU if you have a crappy no brand one...

Isn't the AMD Sempron 3400+ effectively 3.4 GHZ?
