This is mostly being done in the name of tradition. Supposedly, this is their way of becoming a man, a step to adulthood so to speak. Now, Im nowhere near an environmentalist but I would really like to fucking hang these people. Yes, we all kill animals but this is completely unnecessary.

Humans already control Horses, Dogs, Cats... sheep, pigs, chickens..... for many different things... (including sex)

Whales are a pretty valuable source of meat... (definitely a whole lot more meat than a cow) as along as their not being hunted to extinction... why should we care if a small island hunts them regularly? Why should we give them more care and attention than most cows that are used for human consumption?

Fuck no. I know a couple of vegans. Most of them cant cope with their everyday lives and their appearance is anything but normal. I dig on meat.
