Geeky stuff below:

Practically speaking, although the prospect of 40Gbps is nice there won't be many servers in the world that will send data that fast. The speed of her computer's storage will not go anywhere near that fast either.

Realistiacally, using it to deliver HDTV content would only require 3 or 4 simultaneous streams - one to watch (or a couple more if there are a few more tv's in the house) and maybe record a couple as well. 1500 is just plain crazy.

Conclusion: 40 Gbps is impractical for a home user. It's like insisting on putting a powerful v12 engine on a toddler's tricycle. A couple hundred megabits per second would me more than adequate.

speaking about internet i saw somthing on the news this morning.

there saying alot of broadband that your buying bearly goes to the speed its said to go.

many broadband providers are saying for example: (Up to) 10 mb Broadband the "(up to)" part made smaller of course, alot of people saying that is should be tetermind by avrage speed and not as high as it can get to when theres only 2 people in your town using the internet because theres never only 2 people using ure net.

i think its pretty true heard even some broadband providers even hold back there speeds to some costumers.

i get up to like 116kbs a second avrage, during night time or non busy hours i get 218kbs a second and im on 2 mb broadband :?

don't think there are computers build to down with 40 gB/sec.... impossible still I think, some fibrewire connection in Holland get 100 mb/sec (which is as fast as my networkcard :) )

Bullshit Story I think, but all possible for the future....

That's true.. every commercial says like "10Mb/2Mb" and even the 2Mb is often false.. wankers :)

I still wouldn't mind having a 40Gb connection

the net i've got here is actually fiber obtic but no where near as fast.

last time i checked, it was south Korea that had the fastest broadband (for a country) and i think it was around 150 mb per second

i have a up to 10mb line, but i get an average of 8mb, maybe 9 sometime.and when the internet isn't working so fast i have a 3 mb conection.
but that is weird having a god damn 40gb conection.
in my country with a fiberlink conection you get 5mb for international and 50mb or 70 mb for metropolitan use.basicaly if you download from an local server in the country you can get a download speed of 8 mb.i can only get 1,2 mb at night, and maybe download from an international server with 500kbps
