WAMT? I went on my mega trip across the country to do my copier install. All was going very well (no traffic to get there, easy access to the location, nice people). UNTIL the MD goes out at lunchtime. Then comes back in 30 seconds later. My van's handbrake had failed and it had rolled backwards 15 feet into his wife's car.

Oh shit.

I've got to tell my boss tomorrow.

The thing is, I just know he's going to suggest I didn't apply the handbrake properly. Luckily, I have a witness to say that after I'd parked it, we spent 10 minutes unloading the copier off the tail-lift onto my stairclimber trolley, and it was still in it's original position where I'd parked it when we left it. Judging by the small size of the dent in the other car's wheelarch the brake had only just released enough so that the van moved veeeery slowly under it's own weight. On the plus side, if it hadn't hit the car, there's a good chance it could have rolled through a railing, off an embankment, and fallen onto the road 20 feet below. Yikes.

But this was all made insignificant by the fact the the above mentioned copy of Earthbound 2 has been offered to me by the seller, as the original buyer has pulled out.

HELL YES!!!

I wasn't planning on eating this week anyway..

Yeah I'm not looking forwared to it ONE BIT. The one good thing is I drive an 3.5 ton Iveco Daily and the rear corner bumpers are nice and soft and 'give' a bit if you squash them, so there's no damage *at all* to mine.

It'll still be an insurance job for the other car though. I took a few photos of both the damage and the road I parked on, so hopefully I won't have to try to explain too hard. And luckily someone else nearly totalled their company car last month by rear-ending someone, so I'll just play off that;

'At least I didn't break anything the company owns..'

Fuck it, basically. It's one of those things you can't plan for...

How the hell did you do that? Sit on it?

Don't EVER put it back in your CD player. If it shatters it could destroy the laser.

Time to download a new copy methinks..

Thanks for the Link, but I allready ordered the album on amazon.
First, I couldn't copy the last tracks especially the beautiful Ziggomatic 17 and Nanou 2. I thought, there were scratches or marks on the silver side of the disc. Nope nothing. Then I looked closer at the inner plastic circle of the CD. I thought it was something like a scratch but it was a small break. Than I rubbed the CD against my sweatshirt. And than it broke. It looks now, like someone made a clear cut from outside into the inner circle.

Well, I think the CD was badly manufactured. I take very much care of my CD's. Well and then such shit happens.

Y'know what, sometimes it's actually the CD case that damages the CD. The spindle bit that holds the CD in position is sometimes quite rigid and makes it quite difficult to remove and it weakens the inner circle of the CD. If you find that you can't remove the CD easily after a few listens, take a small nailfile to the spindle and sand it down just a smidge, just enough that it'll hold the CD, but make it easier to remove.

I've done this little fix myself plenty of times, and I haven't broken a CD since.

Hey now you left off the JK.

Went to the aquarium and was asked 4 times for money. Off all the friends that went (5 total) I was the only who was asked each time.
