hey, i really need to find somone who owns or used to own a microkorg, because just wondering how i'd be able to run it and would it be poisible to use it with an amp and not the pc, because i had bought a M-audio keystation for the pc and i got it at christmas and i still can't get it to work, so just wondering if they can be run without the pc and just through an amp or even headfones

I used to have 2 of them before Liam ever had one!!!

I still have one though and I use it regularly.

First off I noticed in your avatar you have a pic of the Yamaha DJXII, I used to own that as well. Unlike the DJX series and other keyboards like that, most synths don't have speakers built into them. You can of course use headphones and amps, any kind of output source that allows for you to some how connect via 1/4" jacks. You could even connect to a mixer and then to a PA system through the mixer. As far as your pc goes, midi will work fine if you're wanting to do some recording and sequencing but as I'm sure you know midi isn't a form of audio so you'll still need some form of speakers or headphones to hear what's going on.

have you tried going into a music equipment shop and asking to try out some equipment, or simply for some help? people who work in music shops are nomally only too happy to help if they can see that you're keen to make music (which you are).

from your myspace page i see you're in the falkirk area. here's the address of a music shop in falkirk.

Music & Leisure Scotland Ltd
234 Grahams Rd
Falkirk
FK2 7BH

Telephone: 01324 670767
email: graham@musicandleisure.co.uk

it's almost opposite the end of castings avenue, just south of the A9 past bankside.

click on the extra info bit on this page to see a map
http://www.accessplace.com/music-shop/s ... alkirk.htm

In 2005 it was bought over by the husband and wife team Zoe and Graham Cox. Both have long term experience in the music world, Zoe as a performing musician, teacher and composer. Graham on the disco and entertainment side.

obviously that last bit's a quote from their site

so long as you have a 1/4" jack adapter for your headphones you will be able to hear the sounds yes
