i have windows xp on my computer with an vista pack. i tried today to instal another pack vista vg, but to instal i was suposed to instal a patch. i tried to instal the patch, then it showed me that i should restart the computer to finalize.i did that but just before the computer restarted it showed me another message:,, insert service pack 3 cd'' i pressed cancel, the system re-booted, and now windows won't start.
it shows me the welcome message, and then the screen turns black and that's it.nothing.
i succeeded now in opening firefox by using task manager that eems to still work.
i tried working in safe mode but the same thing happens, black screen. i tried usick a system check in the f8 options.it showed me that both drives are clean.
what the fuck do i do?please i wait answers

try uninstalling the vista thing cuz if ure ram is under 512 then ure fucked cuz i done that with my 256mb ram pc and now its in bits in my music room but then again that was my fault that i put the wrong chip in.
just take out the vista thing if your ram aint good enough because it does cause Major Visual Errors such as black screens and taskbar vanishing, i've had all that before. my screen used to flash on and off almost but it was the pc doing it not the monitor, get rid of vista looks

i had that vista pack i was using and it was good.than i found another vista pack that mimics perfectly windows vista plus some features of windows 7 shown at the d6conference.so i tried to instal that version plus a add on that makes a fully functional searchbar in the start butoon like the original vista.
the only catch was that in order to instal the searchbar you needed an aditional patch.when i tried to instal the patch i had to restart the system for the changes to have effect and exactly then a message box apeared telling me that i had to insert my cd with xp sp3.i hit cancel, the system re-booted, and when windows started, after the welcome message, it just showed a blank screen.after a few trys i found that the system can't find anymore the control panel with everything on it, the task bar.
luckily i tried the task manager and i managed to open the internet browser, and the c/d partitions, so i was able to take xp sp2 from a friend, make room on the partition for it and install it.
now i'm fine, the only problem is that i have to install all the shit that i had before, all the software........my evening out is fucked
and the worst pack is that before 85% of my software was original with license even the damn winamp.now i have to install free anti-virus, free media-players...............life sucks
