Post subject: | Jilted Generation Tribute Band (Web Sherriff Click Here) |
heres a surprising one, got this info from techno4yourhead who does alot of djing for free rave parties around scotland. he asked jilted generation the tribute band if they would mind playing a show up at the free parties (these free parties are the same as the ones prodigy done before the law banned them in 94) now it costs nothing to go, and every single dj and performer who performs does it for free, why ? because of the music, the only thing thats changed from the free rave parties now and then is the time. so techno asked them to do a set, as a tribute to the prodigy and there old days when they also performed for no cash. it would have been like the rave days all over again but jilted generation asked for 700 quid and hotel and transport, how fucked is that ? the fact is all tribute bands cover music, jilted are just playing liams material and he is charging 700 quid a gig plus transport and hotel fee's that can come up too around 1500 quid for them to play liams stuff. thinking that they were a tribute band they'd have done it for free just like prodigy did, but obviously not. i think the real person who if they could should have done it would be molotov beats, at least he remixes and covers everything the websherrif shouldn't be sending emails to molotov about his remixes and covers, websherrif should be emailing these guys ! sorry for the long read but you gotta understand the story first |

sure they can do little concerts and what not for money, but not every cover band is prodigy now is it ?, why would we get a metallica band performing at an illegal rave party ? there are no security, there are no stalls selling food or merch, its just a stage, music lovers and many tents and 48 hours of non stop music at amazing locations, just like prodigy done it years ago |

Tell T4YH to email Liam instead, maybe he's feeling nostalgically generous. |

Would be interesting to see what Liam's reaction would be to people charging £700 just to dress up and play his CDs. |

Yeh, usually a prodge tune or 2 get dropped. Jilted Generation are playing at a chav-fest up here at new year an said they wanted to come to our party afterwords. I said they might be able to do a set if they wanted an they asked for £700 plus a hotel. lol. Pisstake. |

Don't let cogglesz tell the story, he misses half of it out. |

Sorry if you thought I was snappy (I probably am, all flued up ) If you'd said they were up there anyway and had asked to go to the party then tried to charge for the privilege I would have said pisstake as well but if they are invited especially to play this party then I think they have the right to at least get some accomodation out of it, petrol/beer monies etc. everyone's got to make a living. |
