No..we just play an ipod through the sound system and charge £100000 per show
Why do people CONSTANTLY think that? If you look at the pics you can see the same setup as the real band. Keys, laptops, drums, guitars. It's done EXACTLY the same way that they do it. Stuff gets fucked about with, some tunes are remixed in a Liam way such as the Your Love/OOS thing for example, some of it's our own thing, like our own takes on Spitfire and Voodoo. It takes a LOT more effort than just putting on a CD. All the programming, figuring out guitar parts etc. Do you think it's easy to play drums to Prodigy tunes for 90 minutes + without dropping a beat?? It's not. We've SEEN Leo fuck it up live!!!
As to Why??? Why Not? We work hard at it, put time and money in, We have a laugh, get to see a bit of the world on instead of staying in the pub around home, we meed some cool people, they come out and enjoy themselves. The tribute scene is a thriving buisiness, and like it or not, people DO wanna see us or we would'nt get booked. We are just there for entertainment, that's all. People should just suspend their disbelief for an hour and a half and just enjoy us for what we are. Simple.
So...reasons against???

Fair play
I still wanna see you guys, missed out on an opportunity to see you last year. My mates that went said it was awesome and I think they said you played Get Up Get Off, I'd love to hear how that was because i'm think i'm one of few people who actually like that track.

We've done quite a few off AONO to be fair. Think we've only got Spitfire in the set at the moment, unless you count the Action Radar fill.
Oh yeah, on another note to people who think we play CDs....we also do that version of Firestarter with the different intro and the Minor Threat bit in the chorus........yknow the one that's on all the CDs.....

(Just my opinion... don't read this if you have a short fuse. )
I don't wanna sound like a bitch but I think that it's just lame to say you remix and play 'live' Prodigy music, and you say it in such a way like you own the actal tracks. Tribute band, ok cool. Cool you play those tracks, fun while it lasts, but you have been around for long enough now. Maybe a little too much pride inside?
BUT:
If you don't have the original tapes and files you can't really mess around with a track like Liam does (Voodoo People 05, Spitfire 05, Break & Enter 05, The Way It Is (live mix), so you must be quite limited. Just messing around with the cd-rips and play live parts over it won't cut the deal for me.
I hope you stop playing Prodigy tracks at one point and continue as a stand-alone band. It just feels like such a joke, everytime I read/hear about you guys. You take it sooooo serious (just looking at your faces on the live pictures), that I'd rather see you guys apart from Prodigy, as a standalone band. You could then cover some tracks instead of pretending to be Maxim and keith (ooooh come ON , it's a joke to see people dress up like others. It reminds me of cosplay and Star Trek.)
Why take the effort to mess around with other people's music (like djs) if you can come up with something new instead (same effort)? I'd be curious if you guys can manage that. Cover/tribute-bands don't do it for me, either good or bad on stage.
Or shouldn't I take you guys so seriously?
Sorry for all the harsh bullshit, I just wanna speak my mind cause I have been thinking about it for a looooong time.

Well, as someone who tried since ages to rip of Liams sound, I can second this, although you guys go the more direct route of copying it.
I don't think it's a general bad idea and I seriously think that you guys have a good time doing it. So don't let the others pull you down and kill your fun, just because "it doesn't feel right".
I too think it looks a bit strange, but I am also the first one to let everybody do whatever makes them feel good (within certain boundaries) and encourage them. Fun is (no pun intended) seriously important, so go get all you can.
One word of advise would be: Over time, try to incorporate some own tracks, one by one. Cos I guess you enjoy it, but just think of having a fan base that now also digs your own creation and follows you doing that.
Maybe in time you can say goodbye to Liams stuff and attack the scene with your own, cos I think you've been doing this now for quite a while.
And yeah, "Keith" has to get more tattos and a septum and an industrial piercing...

I have read all your opinions and took all sides in, but now its time for my opinion!
I have known these lads for a while now, and if theres anything i can say about them is that they are genuine, passionate, hardworking lads!
People bitch and slag them off when they have never even seen them play! I am a HUGE prodigy fan and im very critical and wouldnt give them credit if it wasnt due.... but it is!
These lads spend hours in the studio practising and remix-ing tracks to make them sound "there own" the time and effort that goes into, costume, getting to gigs, setting up, packing down, etc etc etc is CRAZY. There not under the impression that they are the real prodigy and never will be.. these lads are HUGE prodigy fans and do it for the love and respect of the real prodigy!
For those who have judged and then seen them play they will tell you how impressed they were by them.... YES the bloke who plays maxim is white... YES the the bloke who plays Keith has no tattoo's..... and YES the guitarist is a chunky mo fo...THEY KNOW THIS!!! BUT WHO GIVES A SHIT??? they do a fucking good job and for any of the "critics" out there, get in touch and i will personally pay for your entry into one of there gigs so you can see for yourself!
The jilted lads met The Prodigy last year and they were impressed.... so what better compliment than to hear it from the horses mouth eh???
Keep doing what you do lads. The prodigy is the best band in the world so your always going to get critics... i just dont agree with it when theyve never seen or met you cus if they did .... WE WOULDNT BE TALKING ABOUT THIS!!!
RANT OVER.......

I wouldn't bother with the videos you see on youtube there shit, and the lads will be the first people to tell you that!
When the tribute maxim met the real maxim at birmingham last year, Maxim mentioned him on the prodigy blog saying respect to him.... so they cant be that bad! Also they have played with Gizz Butt (for those who havent been a fan long enough to know who he is... he is an ex prodigy guitarist) he rates them highly and they are still in contact with him!
They also write there own material which does really well at gigs!
There are loads of other bands like oasis, artic monkeys, foo fighters who have tribute bands so why shouldnt prodigy have one??? If anything i admire there courage to try and pull it off!!!!!
I would seriously recommend you go and see them if you havent already and see for yourselves!!!!!
.... so shove it up your arse and get steve!
