Simple enough question, I'm looking for a distortion pedal that would work nicely with synth sounds to get a really rough n aggressive Prodigy-like distortion. What are your favorite devices to get distortion with hardware synths?

i use the input-line on my Novation A-station synth. It can make some very nasty sounds.

Thats cool, I guess I'm after something relatively cheap, or something I could pick up quite cheap on eBay (joys of bein on the dole). Was looking at the Boss DS-1, really cheap but most of the reviews I could find all look at distortion pedals as for guitars only, n find hardly any that put other gear like synths through them. I guess I'm after something quite harsh n nasty soundin, somthing similar to early Chemical Bros distotion (something like on the main synth from this maybe... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gknXdDLJDMc). Something like a hardware equivalent to Reason's Scream distortion would be great.

Daft Punk used a Boss MT-2 (and a Juno 106) for making the melody of " Rollin' & Scratchin' "

A french guy remade it

Niiice, thats pretty cool, the MT-2 is the metal distortion pedal isn't it? Dunno whether that would be all that versatile, dunno though, I wonder if I took a trip up to DigitalVillage they'd let me stick a few of the synths through all the guitar pedals they have, lol

Thinkin about it, I could of sworn ages n ages ago I read that the Chemical Brothers used a ProCo RAT distortion pedal in the studio...
