Hey guys got a kinda urgent question and you guys were the 1st to ask about this.

My wisdom teeth are coming though not so sure its a happy event but my top left one is partly though but it did hurt when it cut the gum, and got NO swelling only slight pain from it. But my right top one is coming though and it hurts like fuck. Noticed my cheek is swelling. But before it starting coming though I got like lumps on my bottom inner lip ya see, they dont hurt but irritating. I know these lumps are ment to be there, something to do with saliva and all that crap cause I have had them for ages. but these ones on the right have been inflamed for about a week and a half . They are starting to go down actually, But anyways thats besides the point I was just wondering if any of you guys have had these lumps that have swollen ? Or any swelling of the cheek or Lymph glands when ya wisdom teeth came though ?

Totally random I know, but I got the dentist on the 14th so I was just wondering in advance. Cant get me a doctors appointment till after the 14th of next month too! So kinda stuck on what to do...

Anyways I am a hypercondriac so I panic about any lumps and bumps that go on.. any decent positive advice will be greatly thanked any negative ones will be greatly looked into and worried about

I can't speak from experience since I was born without wisdom teeth (no point in saying that but I just wanted to rub your face in it ), but the swelling is a normal reaction to the damage caused by the teeth. Those bumps sound like a blockage or an infection of your saliva glands.

You should keep your gums as clean as possible while they heal so they don't get any further infection. Normal mouthwash is probably going to send you through the roof so try diluting some and gargling.

As for the pain, well, paracetamol and codeine tablets are a godsend.

Rofl thanks for rubbing it in

Yeah thats what I use mouthwash and all that I tried Salt water that didnt really help. then I tried Salt water and mouthwash that didnt help either.

Even went to brushing at least once a day  <---- I was joking I brush twice a day

The lumps dont hurt or anything but I did think it was something to do with saliva glands. That was after I thought I had oral herpies and Oral cancer

(But I suppose you need to have Oral sex for herpies ... sooo... that is where my thoughts were rested  )
Thanks for the advice though Ill just keep doing what Im doing and in the mean time try not to worry

if you can get oil of cloves (eugenol) that will help greatly with any tooth pain...just use a cotton swap and place on the tooth or affected area (ever watch marathon man with dustin hoffman)

if you notice any excess bleeding from the gums you can use tea bags (flavor immaterial just not decaf and wet them before you put them over the area) the tannic acid in the tea help will stop the bleeding...not the best taste but it works...just a few minutes should suffice

sometimes a warm compress on the outside of the jaw will help and as suggeted earlier take an anti-inflammatory not aspirin

hope this helps

All sounds perfectly normal for wisdom teeth, Amba. Everyone has different symptoms of pain, mine for example were virtually painless, (I know, I'm a lucky bugger) but other people I know have had it a lot worse than you.

Don't worry too much if the swelling's going down, but if it's still bad in a week, go and see your dentist early, and they'll probably give you some antibiotics. Wouldn't worry too much, you're probably far too young to have any serious problems.

Thanks for the advice :-D
Ill try some of the remedies though - Painkillers dont work unfortunatly so yeah I think I need to go off the beaten track for pain relief. If only I had gas and air like the Hospitals Id be fine

But tyvm for the advice it will be used!

As for the butter thing well... Ill have to get back to you on that one Fabio  May be I can swap the butter for something more... whiter eh?! I was thinking whipped cream with a dash of strawberry sauce haha...
