When I press play in ableton live it plays a high pitched beep sound, like a xylophone or something like that. i dont know how to turn it off, and it annoys the hell out of me. someone please help me. thanks.

press the icon that looks like a "tape" after the 4/4, at the upper left of the screen

yeah its the metronome, its just to help you record at the right speed etc etc

no, no you misunderstood me. i know what the metronome is. when i press play it beeps, but only once.only when i press the play button. and the sound of it is a little bit different from the metronome, and has a release sound for about 1 second.
