I'm on an allowance now... actually on my way to the psychologist. Haven't finished anything since I was like 12. I'm almost 24 so that means I haven't accomplished anything for half of my life. Yeah, I am a complete fail. Last week I went back to my old school and study, seems they have a place for me to finish what I started. With a little help, and plain motivation (which I have sitting over a year at home staring at the walls), I will be able to finish my school.
Fingers crossed they want me at school. This week I'll have my appointment to talk.

I work in the NHS, hate my job, so found a new job which I start next monday! Sadly, this is also in the NHS. Only ever had jobs in the NHS since I was 16, now I'm 24... sigh. Least this new job has chance of moving up, should be getting a promotion there in 6-12 months increasing my pay by around £6-7k a year. Least when I get bored I have access to loads of information about everyone in the UK at my fingertips

still teaching english, but in kiev now.
been doing it for 11 years now and still enjoy it.
like working with people in a job that needs some thought and creativity, as well as the fact i don't need to get up early in the morning!

I'm at the last year on the university in my hometown, and in june i will have master of science degree. After what i'm doing i can be a teacher in each school in Poland. Beside of that i have finished another higher school with engineer degree as an food technologist, so i can work in any chemistry laboratory, or food factory. In free time i was carpenter, and i did a lot of Roof construction with my uncle. Still dont know what to do after school, lot of my friends went out of border to work, but still i have a hope to find a good job here in Poland. I wish to have a good job, i dont want to be a billionaire, but i wish to enjoy my work and life.

I'm currently in sixth form, actually. Next year I'll be doing a marketing course at university though, so that should be interesting.
Any tips you could give me about the marketing field, jilted?

I've been studying advertising but I work in the betting industry as a football trader and I cannot complain - it's a nice job + you got paid for watching and trading football Sometimes my boss hates me cause I'm a huge Man United fan and I jump when they score even if those goals cause losses for the company lol
My previous working experience includes variety of jobs - waiter, bartender, host, lifeguard, surf and skate salesperson, online support and fraud agent..I wonder what's next

I'm a systems data analyst working in a warehouse distribution centre.
The only pain in the arse is the hours. 06:30-14:30 this week, next week is 14:30-22:30.
At least I get a decent lie in every other week.

anyone i've ever met who's worked in marketing all say that the documentary 'Century Of The Self ' by adam curtis is a must watch if you want to understand it.
it's all about how psychology started to be used to market products, and its development into modern marketing.

most important - fuck studies in marketing (i'm master of economics)
by the meaning of marketing i think of not selling stuff but discovering new ways to sell stuff and spread the interest of your brand. it's very creative job and has many routes, like i'm into internet marketing on the field of distribution platforms among known distributors.
make a short but direct course. or a couple... find your niche (preferred brand/range of product) and technology/art u can use in comparison with your skills.

Thanks Jugo and Jilted. Haha it might be a little late for me to change my undergraduate degree now (considering I don't want to repeat the year), but the university set as my firm choice, the University of Reading, has the course listed as 'Consumer Behaviour and Marketing'. So that indeed does take into account a lot of psychology.
I'm not that bothered about money as long as I get by with a happy life really, and I find the study of marketing the most interesting from my experience so far in school and external research, so direct finance and economy related degrees aren't courses I'd especially want to study for 3/4 years.
I'll make sure I check out that documentary at some point
