first off i dislike itunes but in some instances they are a necessary evil...

that being said...does anyone know how to capture video from itunes...the itunes festival is going on and i would like to get the foo fighters concert...i can watch it of course and get the audio but i do not know if or how to get the video


any ideas? cheers

There is a way to get it, but that requires to stop the download before ending, and then on a pc with iTunes 8 installed (maybe a virtual machine) you go to "check for available downloads" and it re-downloads the file. Once that happens you can remove the DRM after the file is completed using a java program called Requiem. Unfortunately atm there isn't any way to remove DRM from a file downloaded with iTunes 10.x

I did it once, when i bought the World's on Fire video, worked just fine :)

cheers stelios for the info...

seems i have a bigger problem...when i click to watch a gig on the itunes festival page i get a message that says this computer cannot stream the itunes festival videos...i went on the apple forum and there seem to be a lot of people in the same boat and apple says nada... went to the itunes festival uk facebook page and left a post but no replies...another reason i hate itunes...the vids are free to watch but you cant :?

I just found out you were talking about streams, and not video purchases!

To be honest, i just tried it and it streams just fine here.
Video is pretty good but audio isn't that good in the recorded streams :/

Maybe in the live streaming it's better though

Not sure, you can only playback it through itunes...

One could run wireshark when the video starts to check. Afaik quicktime plays rtmp streams.
Itunes wont run on my computer though.
