my akoya laptop is a quiet one (Win 8.1, Realtek Chip). That wouldn't bother me much but my gf's Acer is RIDICULOUSLY loud compared to mine...

The seemingly standard solution on youtube is enabling the loudness equalization in the enhancements section of my audio device... which I don't have, driver related I believe. Updating won't help.

So I narrowed my options down to fondling around in the bios and do shit there... Am scared, won't do it

Is there a solution to this other than bios shit and buying an audio interface?
