i'd say one love or something was prodigy's worst, omen isn't a bad tune, just think were a bit bored of it now, thats all

Hotride is the worst. Omen is brilliant, it's classic, it's fresh, catchy and amazing. Better than Firestarter, and yes it does belong in that list. Definately it does, no ifs or buts saying it's not good, it is fucking good full stop!.

I agree with Kubazz. Omen is too overrated and sounds more like a cheap vouge-song than a real prodigy tune.
Beside, seeing that in the top 1000 songs... ahhhh no. They have far better songs than that. And you can tell me "it's taste and all" but then consider it as my taste. Beside, even if I try and put away my taste and just look over their songs, I still say they have a lot of tracks that are way more exacting.

And as my opinion about the five tracks on this top 1000 songs of all time: well, poor... but it was expectable that if there'll be a book like this breathe, firestarter and smbu will be in it. that's the typical: do you know prodigy? ah yeah they had a the clip where a crocodile was in the bed and cockies in the bath!
So at all, I wouldn't say these five tunes are well selected, but i can understand why they are on the list. I simply disagree it because Im a fan and i know prodigy and their works better than average people who just hear some of their tracks on radio/tv.

I totally disagree. When one love came out it was so fresh and nothing like we've ever heard before. It also had the new - at the time - Prodigy sound all over it. Don't get me wrong, I still wouldn't put it on the top 5. Omen is indeed a bad choice. Nuff said.

One Love is a classic tune!

At that point of the bands history, well more Liam's history! The scene at the time was dissing Liam and the boys saying he had sold them out when they blew up in to the mainstream!

Liam went away and wrote the masterpiece and started dropping tunes out on White Labels and all the haters where going nuts to tunes like One Love without knowing it was Liam's work! A hjuge middle finger up to the haters.

As Liam has said, the scenen was dying anyway so if they killed it then so be. That's why MFTJG is such a masterpiece! Liam took elements of rave and crossed it over with much more havy & rockier beats.

One Love is a pivitol part of the Prodigy's history! As is Omen but for a different generation of fans.

Fans are always gonna disagree on what tuens work for them musically and that's fine at the end of the day. There are tunes on each album that i prefer more than others but for me i always seem to go back to the tunes i'm not keen on at a later point and find i get something different out of them that helps me appreciate it from a different perspective.

don't get me wrong here, i know one love has its history and stuff (to the two posters above) just i'm not keen on the tune

Guys.... I think you misunderstood the whole thing..

As far as I understand these songs were not chosen by anyone. They are merely the 'most requested' i.e. it has no bearing what so ever if they are any good or not. Something like lady gaga or some other jock strap will be at the top.

On the subject of Omen? It's the song that put the Prodigy back on the map, they threatened to fade away after the pretty unsuccessful AONO (in a commercial sense). Ok Their Law was an eye opener, but Omen was the tune that got the general publics interest in them again. They knew what they were doing when they released it....

So does it deserve to be in the top tier of prodigy tunes? That's for you to decide! But like it or not it's the one song that defined this era.

They are singles, and radio stations play singles 90% of the time.

Some people dont understand that theyre singles, you will never ever see 'Rhythm Of Life' or 'Thunder' on these radio stations lists.

Regardless if they got better songs that deserve to be on the list, but thats their policy in choosing tracks. THEY ONLY CHOOSE SINGLES.
