I'm also one from those days. I think most people from those days are looking nowdays Prodigy music and opinions in this forum with very different eyes than new fans who have come with AONO or IMD. Old fans really know what Prodigy are, we are not only reading history from books.
Even I don't like Nasty, Omen or most of the AONO so much than old ones, I understand if someone does who have found Prodigy with these tracks/albums and maybe like them more than old albums. Some people even like more other bands than Prodigy, how weird is that
But sometimes I have a feeling at always when there's new track with Prodigy stamp, some people will always like it and say it's amazing, doesn't matter how it sounds. This bothers me and I guess some other old fans who are moaning here. Like cheggers wrote, later Liam said BGAT was shit and mistake. But Liam didn't say BGAT is shit when he relased it. So it's possible Liam will say later Nasty was shit. We will see.
I hope rest of the album is better. Many clips from facebook are very promising for old Prodigy fan ear, especially gotta get sunlight off riff - actually it has been my ringtone since it came to facebook. And like someone wrote - listen some Guetta music, and after that Nasty is not so bad afterall
Shame Prodigy did't do Earthbound III like someone also wrote before. Not because of do old Prodigy fans like that when there's no Prodigy stamp, like case was old days. But because of that do fans like it when it does not have Prodigy stamp.

I wouldn't bother, it's an ignorant statement.
People and their minds change over time, it's natural. The Prodigy as a band have gone through a lot of changes ever since they started in 1990.
To say that only the old fans really know what The Prodigy are is an absurd assumption. I will correct Smack- and say that today The Prodigy are not what they were in the 1990s, they changed and so has their music. I am a fan since 2005 and I do know what The Prodigy are and what they were and I like both sides of the coin eventhough they're vastly different.
It looks to me like many of the old fans (maybe I should say "the only true fans" based on Smack's absurd statement?) are forcing themselves to listen to their once beloved band. As pointed out, times have changed and so have The Prodigy, so if you don't like their post 20th century stuff why don't you move on? It looks like those guys are forcing themselves to listen to anything with a Prodigy stamp on it even though they have stopped liking the bands sound a long time ago.

I agree with ToX.
I can't stand those types of fans that are like 'haha i followed them since day one which makes me a superior fan to you'' oh sorry for not being born in time to have followed them from day one, so the only way to learn about their history IS to read about it in books etc.
Not saying you're one of those fans Smack, but there are people like that...I have come across them.

I bet the old fans banged to tracks like Speedway..
Nasty is a good track, its dark and raw.
BGAT did suck a bit, except that the tune at the beginning rocked ass.
I started at MFTJG and every album ive listened to have both good and bad songs. Aono being the album with most bad. Dear god Phoenix..
What i want is Narcotic Suite part 2. Other than that, MFTJG is history. Im more interested in hearing a darker Prodigy than going back to the old sounds and i have banged for Nasty for days.
The best song for me imo is Android and Claustrophic Sting but yeah im looking forward to the darker Liam.

BGAT is one of the best prodigy trax ever. You can also not like it, but its structure is kind of complete. It has many parts, it is a real song, not just a track. Crazy riff, fat diesel power beats, a lot of lyrics, a great chorus, with keyboards leads parts alterned to guitar parts. I can understand that it represents maybe a negative "prodigy period", but I won't never say it sucks, or it is a bad track, because there's all the art of the prodigy within, even though they reject it now for first.

this is also what liam thinks, but i find the dub mix kind of repetitive, too long and boring. I love both the versions of the track, the first live one and the second one which is even "more mature". Anyway mine was a technical analysis, enriched with few personal considerations. However, in this case, just tastes.

Well. It's not like I agree with the opinion that only the old fans can understand the band, but I don't think Smack- meant that when saying that signature-worthy (:P) line. Still, indeed, to the young fanbase this looks like an attack on the... age of the younger fans. Please try to understand how we perceived your sentence. I am 22 (and before anyone asks me out... I am MALE xD so female Prodigy fans offers only, please) and I really wish I was born at least 10 years ago, so I could relive all the nice bullshit like live Prodigy gigs at their Jilted (and TFOTL) time (instead of listening over and over to Break'n'Enter 95' live recording... best stuff ever!). But I can only blame my parents for waiting so long for their third one!
I'm generally trying to avoid posting nowadays, since it's mainly pointless discussions between old and new fans, and I have respect for all of you, so I don't really want to get engaged into this. I'll just wait the bullshit posts period over I guess. Peace!

Oh i forgot i also had Fire-Edit on a tape and some other stuffs before i got the MFJTG as a present from Santa
There are people that i kind of agree with. That Nasty is not single-worthy, could say the same to Firestarter, Omen and many other tracks . It is good but feels more like some album track. Like Run with the wolves. Why didnt they release The Day Is My Enemy instead, something we heard before and gave feedback to.
EDIT: what new climbatize?
