Well... Hating is very easy. It is more difficult to figure out what you actually like.

Is this what we've become? A society who have to be told what to like and what not to based on appeal to authority-type fallacy?

Surely what you like is based on your own values and you know what you like? Hence I knew on my first play-through which tracks were my standouts.

Quote:
But yeah, people shouldn't spread criticism like manure.

We all know that if a person is too positive their meanings gets devalued.
The same thing goes for being too negative.

You have to be honest.
And you have to be respectful.
Otherwise your meanings will devaluate.

I do agree the balance has to be right, and honesty is key. But if honesty is priority, balance might not be right. Catch 22.

A respectful tone has nothing to do with being told what to like. A respectful tone has nothing to do with liking/disliking something. It has to do with good manners.

I think allmusic.com is the only rating that I will care about. and even them are not perfect

they'll probably give 3,5/5 or 4/5

Is it me my Dark Lord or the review grades are similar with IMD's? I start to believe that the non hardcore fans do not like this angry, violent path.Maybe the whole scene got gay and light. I remember the Chems were good.Last 15 years their albums are boring and sound like a soundtrack for gay porn. Not even German S&M.

Hmmm give it more time because more reviews are coming but so far TDIME holds a better overall score on Metacritic.

Robert Christgau has the most accurate reviews to date, as far as objective reviewing goes.

http://www.robertchristgau.com/get_arti ... he+prodigy

Hope he does one on TDIME.

I like this album almost as much as FOTL tho. TDIME is 4/5. FOTL would propably be 4.2/5.

The Fat Of The World. :evilflame:

I completely agree;
Having said that, since FOTL has 8 great tracks (taking out Fuel My Fire and Serial Thrilla) and TDIME has at least 10 great tracks (depending on personal preference, maybe more than 10) it could be safe and true to say it's a tie. Almost.

The thing is no other album will have the influence FOTL had, and since raters/reviewers possibly consider not only the music but the imagined influence as well, when rating/reviewing, it's wrong to take them seriously if inside their minds they're comparing albums as well because it's impossible to have a true opinion if you don't get rid of the irrelevant perspective of influence.

EDIT: That's why people like Robert Christgau are precious, cause they're only analyzing the music; even if they're inaccurately judging music , it's a judgment of music, not of cultural impact.

5.5/10

That's one ugly website. "‘The Day Is My Enemy’ would benefit from more guest appearances" is a bit of an insult too.

What a bizarre rating system (http://www.robertchristgau.com/xg/bk-cg ... es-90s.php). It seems like he has letters for his own opinion, stars for when he doesn't like something but fans of the artist might, and random symbols where the letter grades would still work fine.

Early impression is that the beats are better and more defined than on IMD. Production is better.
Songwriting is much lower. Where IMD had some pretty good tracks this one seems to be all about the beats and not much else. I get why they had trouble finding a single, there really is nothing that truly stands out except the title track.

Overall about on par with imd, but definitely no classic.

It seems Liam chose Nasty and WF because they are more radio friendly...especially WF.
I understand your logic Jr.

Well at least for me who likes this angry and violent sound i love it. The difference with you is that you do not give it a 0-4/10 like some others, you try to be fair.

*I think you are wrong about WoD..... tell me that you are wrong.....pleeeeeeeeeease?

I like TDIME and it is violent too :P and medicine is pretty sweet. I apreciate the beats, truly ;)

You know, I kinda hate WoD. But there is sometimes a moment where I don't pay attention and find myself humming 'dum dum dum dum dum....my friends.....'. So I'll give you that haha. It's sort of catchy. Maybe without Keith I would like it more. Keith sounds great on rok-weiler, the less he snarls the better he is
