I can honestly say as a Prodigy fan since 1992, i've never been so underwhelmed by an approaching album from the guys, the " new stuff " is far from as good as they've ever done, always feared this though, lets be honest, they are just going through the motions as a band these days, just wish they'd called it a day at their peak rather than turning out sub standard work, they'll always be awesome live, that'll never change, just a shame the new stuff i've heard is mostly awful..

I'll take their awful stuff without hesitation if "nothing" would be the alternative, it's still better than Skrillex :P That being said, their new stuff isn't bad for me.

I wouldn't take any sub standard stuff from the Prodigy, i'd rather they stopped, why settle for shit? strange response.. i will disregard the Skrillrex comment as that "music" he turns out is horrific

I'll rewrite my post then so it becomes more clear what I mean.

I don't think the stuff they make and play live right now is terrible. It's definitely The Prodigy style, it's good to listen and I know that I'll have fun listening to their upcoming record. It is much harder for me to get bored of the band yet than in your case I guess, and you lived in far better times for being a fan of The Prodigy, which probably is one of the reasons of me being more optimistic than you. On the other hand, I do realize that this record is unlikely to be "dark and deep" like Jilted was, but I still like their music enough to not get disappointed easily. In the world of Skrillex, Aoki, Guetta, ... dictating "electronic music" standards, I will happily take even a weaker album of The Prodigy, cause they will still produce something that fits my musical taste far better than the others. So, no, I do not wish they stopped. Also, do you think I, a quite young fan who only seen them 4 times live and that's definitely not enough for me, would want them to stop playing live for example? Not really.

For real, Prodigy has has worse times for material. This stuff is sounding better than AONO and IMHO a few FOTL tunes

Well, we heard few edited not full tracks live, and few beats. I wouldnt be surprised if some of these tracks get released as a b side album something like lost beats part 2. Or got binned, some of it will be on new album but different versions. So, I can say we heard nothing yet :)

freehandjunkie is right...i feel exactly like he does.

I do not know how old is everyone here but i still remember when my cousin called me to hear a new amazing song on his cassette ...it was hyperspeed.
I lived the Jilted era good. I was angry later when every nerd suddenly bought a shirt of the band when Firestarter was out.

Don't be so aggressive when someone doesn't feel obligated to like mediocre stuff just because Liam wrote them.

It is nice to hear new songs from the band but at the same time i feel bad because most of the material is not good.

As for many of the members here , i wish you understood that to love a band doesn't mean to like everything even the mediocre songs.

I really wish that the new album will be epic,i love the band...but you must be a junkie a troll or stupid to say that the new material is overall good.
I hope Liam has some hidden aces.

You just ranted about everyone having different tastes and shouldn't be bashed for their opinions, and then ended with that? LOL. Yeah, I do think the new material is good and I'm eager to hear the new album. No, it's not simply because Liam made it.

I heard Dogbite and hated it, but it got dropped. But everything else, I have enjoyed. My favourite of the lot is Get Your Fight On and I managed to hear the real thing played live, not some dodgy youtube clip.

So fuck off about people liking the new stuff must be trolls. Yeah Jilted was their best album to date. Should there be a Jilted part 2? NO!

Piranha is the most awesome track ever, R.I.P. your shit opinion xD You know what does the "opinion" word mean? Respect mine and I'll respect yours. Same goes to

Even more directed towards you cause Blacklabel "only" said freehandjunkie's opinion is shit, while you just are calling me names.

note: I have no feelings towards Piranha, neither my favourite nor the worst

I'm sorry...i did not say just trolls , i also said ''stupid'' and i should have added ''people with no taste on music'' .

Everyone can have an opinion but im sorry Kurt...it is too obvious that the new material is mediocre for the ''Prodigy standards'' so i really find it sad that many people here including you say it is good.

Even from bad quality vids you can say that these songs are worse than those we heard on vids before IMD was released.
Yeah we have freedom and you can believe what you want but this doesn't mean we must get lobotomized.

I'm talking for the current material we heard on vids.
Only that riff reminded me of the good old days.

No one is telling you that you must like the new stuff, but please call us stupid people somewhere else ok? The forums need people of all opinions or we'd get bored to death but really, there's a difference between being disappointed with the band and insulting fellow fans.

I would wager a guess that about 50% of the regular posters here have heard any of the new tracks post IMD in a live capacity. I am one of the few that haven't had the opportunity to hear the tracks live. However i am of the opinion and i've been vocal in the past before about the standard that Liam has set himself in playing these tracks live is not to his highest quality.

Of most tracks that have been played, i have never heard so many different tweaks or versions of the one track. AWOL is a prime example. It must have had maybe 4-5 different versions? That to me tells me that Liam has been questioning his own standards constantly. Maybe its because of the less than favourable opinions shared here.

One thing Liam has learned to his advantage is how a track can go viral and get fans salivating. Warriors Dance is the best example. And now to his disadvantage, Liam has reworked nearly all the new tracks or dropped them completely.

Liam listens to fans opinions. I know for a fact he does. I would say 2 or 3 of the new tracks we've heard will be on the new album. Then again it would not surprise me at all if none of them are on it.

I would question AWOL's inclusion for the fact that its nearly 3 years old as a track we've heard live and also that Liam has said it's a cast off from the IMD sessions so its probably 6-7 years old?

We've also been in a position as fans to have heard so many new tracks without a physical release. AWOL, Dogbite, Jetfighter, The Day, Rockweiler, Get Your Fight On and Spitfast (well not exactly a new track)

Bottom line is that i dunno what's gonna happen with these new tracks. It seems to me to be a bit of a stop gap to appease the fans and i have to applaud Liam for it. Bad songs or not, we have new material. I'm not a great fan of them so far but my judgement has only been on recordings from youtube. I'll be fortunate enough to hear for myself next week so i'll have a better standpoint.

"the good old days"

Oh man, not only are you insulting prodigy fans but you're also stuck solely in the past. Generations change, trends differ and artists have to evolve to stay fresh and exciting. Why would you insult people you don't know for enjoying their latest live tracks? Having heard them live twice, maybe three times now, I can safely say that 2 of them are incredible.

i'm not a big fan of AWOL but for anyone who is, I wouldn't call them "stupid"

Grow up.

As i wrote before to Kurt:

''I'm sorry...i did not say just trolls , i also said ''stupid'' and i should have added ''people with no taste on music'' .''

Yeah yeah generations change ect ect but the bottom line is that when something is not good....it is not good!

I understand that many might like the new tunes but that doesn't mean that there are good enough to me and others who lived back in the days.

I'm not stuck i just want at least a couple of singles that will come close not to the style but to the quality of the 3 first albums.

I'm happy the there will be a new album and i hope we have another in 6 years  but i wont lower my standards or pretend the new material is ''incredible'' . Most of the people who are over 35 feel this way.Maybe they just don't post in here.

Dezmond do you even know what incredible is? lol ... incredible.
Did you see circles too during that live show when you heard those 2 tracks?

Yeah man, I just looked up the definition of incredible: "adjective - Ability to generate circles"
