That's a lot of money! Sounds good for The Prodigy!
Also... sounds somewhat promising :D

Maybe it's not just for the album, but also for setting up Ragged Flag.

It's hard to define exactly what the £2M will be used towards. Production? duplication? distribution? marketing? Is it a local thing, or a worldwide deal?
If you start to consider all those factors in the equation, particularly if it's a worldwide deal, then £2M may not necessarily be that much. But since the band now are on their own label, every little bit of finance will help.
Either way, it's interesting news.

According to the article, Ingenious is into milking dead cows. Now, thats something I never wanted to asociate with the good ol' Prodge. Still its a great article from an even better source. Really shows the busines side of things. This brings out a shitload of speculation as well. Plus, they're signed to a label that doesnt really have a tremendous client base, if you catch my drift. However, they were in even shittier conditions before and they managed to put out really quality shit. Hell, even on XL no one got even close to them. So, this might not really be a bad thing even though all the evidence speculates that it is.
When I look at what I just wrote I cant help realizing that we're running in circles again and again and again. You know, back and forth all the time. Bla bla, fucking bla. But hey, who's our little firestarter?

Really interesting business model there!
Just selling to current fan base will cover their marketing and distribution investment.
Don't get how they'll make a profit though...but if this is the way the industry is going release fucking Electronic Punks video on dvd I say...at least the live stuff! :D
...and kinell, as for the prodigy being past their prime that happened a long ago kid. ...in my totally subjective opinion they're prime was in 94/95...but from a music industry perspective they're prime was in 96/97 when they were the fucking biggest baddest band in the world
