It's impossible for me to like album version of BBT, the only tune that I truly despise
Boom Tap could be the worst track Liam has ever produced, samples and pacman shit are fine but that drumline is so basic, so dated...it's something Bad Company would spit out 20 years ago :/ Total garbage, funny thing is that one little tweak (to that bassline) and that track can shake dancefloors like no other, give it to LaVice to spice it up, this shit needs remixing, badly

Yeah, this is just poorly produced mess. Also that voice sample is very low quality. This just sounds like some rookie producer making their first project in FL Studio. And it is problem with many tracks on that album - some of you moaned about how tracks on IMD and TDIME were overproduced, but this instead is too basic and half-baked in various moments. Especially in beats you can hear that lack of additional elements (for example - I like whole idea behind Timebomb Zone, but the beat is too heavy and there is lack of flow and dynamic, that wasn't a problem in - let's say - Warriors Dance).

I wasn't a huge fan of Warrior’s Dance to be honest. Timebomb Zone is a much better track, also better produced than WD. But hey, that's me. I love Boom Boom Tap. It's simple and fun. Glad Liam is being cheeky again. I also love The Chemical Brothers' Salmon Dance, which a lot of people hate. Salmon Dance is genius. I don't care, I said it. Always good to have some fun and let loose. Awaiting for someone's FL Studio Boom Boom Tap track, bring it on! Just look at Electronic Punks. They were all about having fun and letting loose. Liam has a bunch of silly, great tracks. So it baffles me sometimes with people's reactions.

I loved the first black and white vid of WD but the album version sounds wrong to me, the ‘’ indian chant’’ part sounds drunk and the beats have this loud fart quality that i hate. Imo TBZ is perfect.

I thought I would give it some time to take in the album properly before posting my thoughts. Firstly it's far better than I expected it to be. I was already grateful just to get anther Prodigy album, and although a long while ago I thought it would be their worst, I'm happy to find that it isn't. In fact for the most part it's a fantastic album, so danceable, so much energy, although with its flaws.
The production is really good, a bit more stripped back with less distortion and it sounds fresh even with the retro elements. My favourite tracks are We live Forever, No Tourists and Timebomb Zone. These are all incredible standout tracks and practically perfect.
We Live Forever has been talked about enough already, but it really brings back that old skool Prodigy sound with a modern twist so brilliantly.
No Tourists the song is very well crafted, I love the beats, the dirty synths, the samples, the air horns, it sits up there as one of the best Prodigy tracks since the 90's. Finally a bit of BGAT made it onto a Prodigy album!
Timebomb Zone is so dancable, the energy, the beats, I never thought we'd get a Prodigy track like this again and I'm so glad for it.
As for the rest of the album, Need Some1 sounds better on the album for some reason. It's not amazing, but it's not bad. Light Up the Sky is a great track, albeit with a slightly unusual structure. Fight Fire with Fire works better in the album context and has a quality hip hip beat.
I wasn't sure about Champions of London at first, but I've got more into it on repeated listens. I've decided I really like the music and the chipmunk vocals. When the relentless beats with chipmunk vocals hit you all at once I love the energy, but unfortunately Keith and Maxim's vocals as a bit cringeworthy. It's still a good track though. Boom Boom Tap, what a crowd divider that is. I've decided that I really like this track, I don't love it, but it's good in a strangely addictive way.
Resonante is decent, I don't love it, but it's not ruined by any means. It's a good track. Give Me A Signal again is a good track, nice ending to the album, but I'm not as into it as a lot of people here.
Overall a surprise fantastic album, although not perfect. I can't believe that Liam can still make music with so much real raw energy and so perfectly blending old and new. This album has shown me that the genius is still there, it just doesn't come out quite as often, but it's definitely there and I still can't believe that we now have seven Prodigy albums!

@jonyintheplace:
I love Rebel Radio, but I have a big problem with its production, you describe it perfectly.
@Electronic_Punk®:
Similarly, I would have preferred Heatwave, because of its sample that gave all its flavor to the track. Heatwave with the production and mixing quality of No Tourists could have given a flawless classic.
@NEOREV:
Totally agree, Charly & BBT: same fight. I have no problem with the goofy aspect of some of The Prodigy's tracks. If we had only aggressive and first degree tunes, it would be totally different. Fortunately, Howlett's music is not limited to SMBU. The Prodigy has never been one-dimensional, and that's what makes it so charming. And yes, Salmon Dance is a pure classic from The Chems (according to my tastes). All the Hip Hop tracks from The Chems are flawless for me.

gig from Nottingham @ link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3kjye1zieMguys I'm stunned, pretty much every new track slays live! it's being played faster, Champions creates a tsunami as expected but need some1 is really working in a live environment, what a nice fitting transition tune to grab couple breaths setlist is quite tiresome if you're up to dance to every tune, no time to rest looking at current uk setlists, not sure if it's a good thing lightshow is intense, lovin it

Whenever that track comes on in the car, I find myself speeding up.

About the gig from Nottingham:
Very nice stage setup, great energy, lots of tracks, some nice moments and some small surprises, but overall, it's a big disappointment for me. I don't want to complain unnecessarily, but honestly, I was expecting something else. The tracks from NT are drowned in everything else. Looks like a best of tour for too long for my taste. I spent so much money in their gigs... The same 3 tracks from TFOTL, nothing from AONO; I don't want to restart the debate of why they keep their main tracklist since all this time, but I'm sure if there was a real renewal, it would be profitable for everyone.
I think tracks like Jericho / Hyperspeed / Full Throttle / Skylined / Claustrophobic Sting / Wake The Fuck Up / Piranha / Destroy / No Tourists / Timebomb Zone & Boom Boom Tap could fit perfectly into a No Tourists tour, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. + the classic singles, Because it's not possible otherwise (unfortunately).
Tunes must be mixed together, think a real progression, and give personality to the tour. Make it real !
EDIT: I would like to temper by saying that the tracks from NT all work very well; a real storm.
I must remain realistic. They will probably never make gigs as I have described, the formula is in place for a long time now. I'll have to take pleasure where I find it. I hope there will be an evolution over the next year (I'm pretty confident for that).

Shame Piranha never got dropped live, think it would work quite well. Shame the original Thunder only got dropped one time in New York in March 2009... not that the Dub is bad, but the original kicks fuckin' ass... I agree about Piranha though I think Liam didn't play it cause of the screeching sound (would be fuckin' painful on concert speakers ). w0rlds0nf1r3 wrote: It's impossible for me to like album version of BBT, the only tune that I truly despise I know what you mean dude but if you start looking at it as a fun song like Charly I think you'll enjoy it. I myself somewhat miss the sonic information in IMD as opposed to NT, but it's not necesarily a turn for the worse as long as quality replay value is delivered (which I don't yet know how, but BBT delivers. I need more time to analyze.) jonyintheplace wrote: so guys, your point is that I cannot say that I FUCKIN LIKE MOST OF NT BUT I CONSIDER FFWF (aka fight cocks with big cocks) a terrible mistake that should be banned by the United Nations? Would you like some coaching into the world of punk vocals? You'd be delighted to find out that after you understand punk culture (which The Prodigy are a part of) you will begin to understand (and thoroughly enjoy) the moaning quality of punk vocals. If you wish to proceed with learning you are most welcome to ask for guidance. FFWF is a tip-top Prodge track. Have a nice day. NEOREV wrote: Thank you! They were always frigging silly. I'm so fucking glad I caught Hyperspeed live in 2014 at Snowbombing Looking back that was one of the best sets regarding rarity of tracks I ever had the pleasure to listen to. Fucking AWOL, Jetfighter, and Comanche as well. They should do sets like that more frequently (include rarities)

Seriously, it set the place off. No idea why Liam dropped it. People were singing along and losing their shit. It was literally the one song I wanted to hear them play. I like Dub too, but the original is mental.
