Think you need to extend that warning to gcx and NEOREV too fam, they’re just as culpable if not more so.

Gcx and Neorev are mentioned. They are members of The Horde (according to jonyintheplace).

Dunno what's happened to both Liam and the fanbase for letting their standards lower.

was good having you. take care, all the best.

That doesn't answer my question. How can fans of the greatest electronic band in history really consider No Tourists to be up to the usual quality.

I have loved this group since 1989 and I know how good they are, as we all do.

Although I don't consider NT to be a top 5 album unlike some, I belive that there is every reason to be happy with another 8+/10 album, but it's hard to argue with someone who has been into the band before it was formed.

I always feel like I hear the Chemical Brothers Setting Sun's siren in GMAS. But it's not disturbing, it's certainly not voluntary and it's subtle enough. Initially, this track didn't interest me at all, and the more time passes, the more I find it endearing. I don't think it's a masterpiece, but it's still a nice track.
I can't have a specific opinion on this record for the moment, I just enjoy it and it's very good like that.

In a sense, I understand the tensions on this forum, because the release of a Prodigy album is always an event. We are entitled to be euphoric, but we are also entitled to be demanding. Otherwise, it would be the death of art and culture.

Oh man yes, Setting Sun was such a massive song back in the day. Right up there with the best Prodigy tracks in my opinion. I lost interest after Surrender to be honest. I probably should have gone to their forum to tell people how terrible they've become. Ah well too late now.

So do we know the lyrics of all the tracks officially? I haven't received my CD yet. Are they in the booklet at least?? I'm curious about getting into the moaning quality of those punk lyrics, if only I could understand them better.

How about you start a boys band with cyberbedouin and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named instead?

@gcx:

Dig Your Own Hole is one of my favorite records of all time, you preach a convert! The sound of the Chems has evolved, not always for the best, in my opinion, but the albums that followed Surrender have a lot of value for me.

Are you talking about FFWF lyrics ? It's still my favorite track from NT  I don't know if this is the kind of music that interests you, but Ho99o9's United States Of Horror is for me a major record, and I'm rarely interested in the music of the last 10 years (I mean new artists / bands).

Hot Take:

Champions of London is what Warning should have been.

Big fast, heavy and catchy track with a lot of swagger.

Warning is big fast and heavy. Maybe not catchy but it's way better than boring, repetetive Champions Of London. But I assume You want moooore common drum and bass tunes? Anyway UKF fans are pretty satisfied

Hot take...

Yes I checked out Ho99o9, I like their style a lot too. Recent music acts also don't make much of an impression on me, so yeah, it's a good discovery.
FFWF is certainly the most inovative track on the album and I understand why it's so divisive. If it does not fall in the "easy listening" (cough... cough... tourist) category, all the better.
But those lyrics are hard to grasp for us non-native-english-speakers.

Please, don't curse! I know it is about tastes and I respect your point of view, but Warning, that one was one of the best trax after 90's. It had everything: structure, fast beats, aggressive and hermetic lyrics, great bass line, sharp synths. I'm referring to the very first version, not to "First Warning". I really don't get why sometimes Liam throws away such great pieces and prefers other stuff which sounds inferior in my opinion.... just as Champions Of London. It is 4:49 having the same riff. There is a structure, but way too repetitive. Lyrics are pointless, I only like Maxim lyrics in that track. Beats are great, but recycled from Roadblox. Bassline is fuckin' annyoing.
I hope I will change my mind after seeing that live, because I had the luck of watching an hearing Warning live and that one was one of the best live prodigy trax ever. What an ace!
On the other side, trax as Need Some1, about the which I'm not a great fan, but I like it, would sound great live.
