Read all previous posts. Anyway we'll shut up about it right now.

I think its a decent track, moderately better than Nasty, but any comparisons to the FOTL era are way off, i think some people were talking about Spitfire etc, it's along those lines but Spitfire is way better imo, it's not a huge step forward, i think the track could of been a bit faster, it plods along rather than smacking you in the face... still, it's better than Nasty and it'll be good live..

Perhaps most of us are just so excited because of the disappointment with Nasty. Also we're not really comparing to fotl, but more so saying that it's the best track SINCE fotl.

Yeah i think saying it's the best track since FOTL is a bit off too imo, there are 2 or 3 tracks that are a lot better than this one... Nasty wasn't great i agree, but listening to both of them side by side i'd say TDIME is a bit better and will be good live... Can't say i'm blown away by it all though...

Ekko wrote: Moon wrote: Ekko wrote: My issue with this track are the drums again. They're neither funky nor punchy. Is there a bass drum somewhere between all the mushy pond of flabby bass? I appreciate the jazz sample, though, that's bold. Have you ever been to a parade!? How are these drums not appealing? A real parade doesn't sound that over mixed und flubbery. Plus, the "parade"-sound got nothing to do with the lack of punch in the drum hits, that's just flavour. The actual drums are not very defined and just woomph around, especially the kick. We're talking about the man who used to get the best drum sounds in electronic music and funky ones at that. These drums just sound a little stale. i get where you're coming from. i had fingers crossed for beats with the sound and depth of funky shit and diesel power. and tracks like benny blanco etc. that aint gonna come. their sound these days is very synth-based and i cant see liam engineering beats anymore like he used to.. a whole generation has passed since then. all well documented here
the day is my enemy sounds fresh for the prodigy as we know them now though. and those drums add an industrial feel to the beats which nasty lacks.
the 90s prodigy sound is like a high you'll never reach
