It was sort of free as if you paid the £3 for it the CD album was reduced to £6.99 instead of £9.99 and if you bought it with the Vinyl you got a £3 discount off the price of the Vinyl. They also sold it separately in the shops on its own for £3 but I don't think they were supposed to. The plan behind it was only for people buying the album to be able to buy the EP.
