Cooking Vinyl signs video deal

Music TV website Muzu.TV has signed a global video licensing deal with indie label Cooking Vinyl.

Through the deal, Muzu.TV users will get access to the its entire video library, which includes content from The Prodigy, Blondie, Charlatans, Billy Bragg, Hayseed Dixie, Killing Joke, Gary Numan and Frank Black.

Muzu.tv already has deals with labels including EMI, Sony, Beggars Group and Skint.

Cooking Vinyl managing director Martin Goldschmidt says, “To date, we have resisted doing deals with a lot of online video platforms because we didn’t feel their offering fairly compensated our artists and had the right focus.

“Muzu.TV is different from other online video sites – it was purpose-built for the music industry and we believe it holds great revenue potential for our label through a music focussed service. We see Muzu.TV as being a key online video partner going forward.”

Muzu.TV allows users to create, watch and share music video playlists, providing access to thousands of hours of music video content, including concerts, back-stage footage, documentaries, tutorials, music videos, interviews and classic music TV shows.
