Sorry for messing up your forum with random posts ( ) , but I have a video that pretty much describes the reaction after getting Invaders Must Die. It's sad though. Your post reminded me of this:

They might be the worst electronic band ever (and I include Scooter in that comparison). IMD destroys Pendulum. It's that cheesy Swire-synth. It ruins the track. If you'd just add in Rob Swire singing off key then you'd never know it wasn't a Pendulum tune. If they took out that synth it would be ok, but it totally loses the Prodigy's balls with that cheesy shit in it. And the "we are the Prodigy" sample is really cheese too. Since when do Prodigy need to announce who they are during their songs? Again, compared to WOF and WD it's such garbage. Those tunes set the bar very high, and this doesn't come close to meeting those expectations.
Exactly. I thing that reason for all that shit is that Liam first have name of the track and then he TRY to write it. So, he want some sci fi shit with prodigy beat and fast dnb drums. And if he really needed help by "Does it offend you" guy for this... bah

strange.
i got up today and thought, what the heck, i burned it on CD and got to work listening to it.
i don't know what happend over night but i'm completely hooked now. (still think the beats are too soft.) but it's not a random track. it's evil, aggressive and it's a lot more fun than i thought it would be.

honestly aqualia and i said the same, turns out we both put it on cd and drove to it with a proper sound system, honestly it is required, you'll think its shite without something like that, and trust me it makes all the difference and i think perhaps some of you are a bit too scared to like the high pitched sound because its something prodigy havn't really done before, i'd say go for it, cuz the things got well more chance of making the charts with this, if what they say is true about the single at the end of this month

this is not about to diss or piss on the band. is about fan expectations. fans were too hyped after the live tracks, with max and flint over them
some are angry about it, that's why they keep moaning

Good point indeed

Dunno where to post this, but here seems like a good place.
I was having a break at work, playing some table-soccer, and the radio was playing, tuned-in to the usual station Z-Rock which plays, well... basically rock. So, it came as a huge surprise to me when the presenter started talking about The Prodigy, and BAM - played Invaders Must Die. It felt so fucking cool. Others didn't comment or anything, but most guys there (like 5 or so) were in their late 30s or 40s, and are not into this music, however one of them told me that The Prodigy used to be one of his favourite bands, which came as a surprise, cause he looks like a rocker. Also the presenter seemed to be digging it, and btw I've never heard any other electronic record being played on that station. It certainly made my day

agreeed!! i've listened to it a lot today and it has grown on me. i want the album version now though, i dont expect it to be different, i reckon itll be the same beats just a minute and a half longer to rack it up to 5 mins.
i wanna hear a remix of it with different drums, as i think theyre the weakest part of the track in my opinion. still good though! i've gone up from 7.5/10 to an 8

When their tune sounds like it's by Pendulum.

Man, the synth is similar to Pendulum-style, but it's far from the same. Arguing like this you can say that early 90s prodigy sounded just like Altern8, fuck...they even used exact same samples and synths on some tracks. And so on, Warrior's Dance = every Scooter track released the last 10 years...or to push it way over the top: every rock band sounds the same cos they all use drums, guitar and bass.
Some elements will be similar when comparing bands...but The Prodigy will always have way more depth in their tunes. I hope you got a good nights sleep and please blast IMD on a proper system and tell me it's still shit.
Listen to the first 40 seconds of IMD, total prodigy. And then there's the high pitch catchy synth that no one expected, which makes it even better!
As for the "we are the prodigy" sample. It's cheesy, but the rest of the world thought the prodigy broke up in 1998...so maybe they do need to reintroduce them selves.
