Yeah man, sharing opinions and debating is fine and your interventions are respectful and constructive.
Nobody has to like anything, it's just that some focus only on shaming others and trying to impose their will by vomiting their opinions like they are facts.

I happen to agree with what you said about Need Some1. I think it's a good album track, but I don't consider it good single material. The thing is, I don't care, because I still like it and we are way passed The Prodigy pulling out instant classics.
If it happens, great, but I'll take what they give me.
I'm still more excited about No Tourists than any other album that may come out.

Oh boy, this tune is growin' on me so much.
Yeah, it's not the clichè Prodigy-Keith-Maxim-Single but it's filthy little fucker. 8-)

Predictably dreadful. It's the same fucking sound on every track since IMD. It's such lazy writing. I hope the rest of the album is the opposite of this track, i really do.

My thoughts after Day 1 from official single was aired...
You still can bitching about this and that, sorry but LH and the rest aren't your boys to make music you want, sorry, they are more lazy now, they are older and this is The modern Prodigy and I am buying it. We will never get MFTJG and TFOTL again. Dont be so stupid.
After AONO they punched us with agressive IMD album, unfortunately then they produced very similar album TDIME (IMD 2.0 - even orange colour artworks was so snap decision). They were good/very good albums (look at EDM scene today).
After 3 YEARS (read again 3 YEARS) we will get new album (wooooow). These lazy ravers give us this like TFOTL after MFTJG. My feelings... When I listened to IMD single aired in Radio 1 I was a little bit disappointed (Omen changed it). When I listened to Nasty single aired in Radio 1 I was a little bit disappointed also (TDIME changed it). When NS1 came to my ears I listened to "evil raver's" sound and track with their old touch. It is short cause this must be short (I like more bridge from video but OK). This is their sound... You are tourist - get lost bitching somwhere else.
Peace.

so yea, objectively is godawful, plastic for modern edm-jugend, repetitive, nothing special, bit retarded, bit funky, bit dope, just about enough to make the bouncing retards want to snort cocaine and do some stupid stuff.

subjectively - I don't give a shit, cuz I'm raping the replay button over and over again, hip-hop beat apocalypse, makes the blood pump properly. I guess a fanboy stays a fanboy for all eternity.

on o scale of 14 I'd give it an 88 / 14 for now.

Happy to admit I’m such a fan boy I will tend to defend anything Liam does.

So after umpteen listens, I like the general feel of the track and the direction things seem to be going. I like it more than the IMD single, and a few tracks from TDIME. I am hyped for this album.

But I share some of the frustration about Need Some1 being underdeveloped.

It seems to me that just a few small tweaks could have gone a long way with this track. The main synth could have been just a little more varied as it progresses. The faint drumming you can hear in places should have been brought to the foreground. As for the vocal sample, I would have liked this mixed up a bit more. And how about just a little touch of rumbling sub-bass here and there? I don’t want dub-step, just a little something to challenge my speakers.

But given I wouldn’t even know how to construct a decent drum loop, I won’t tell Liam how to do his job.

At the end of the day you either like his production and you buy it, or you don’t. I’m buying this one.

The track is great... but Liam as usual use and recycle an old sound (the high synth behind the mix which was already there in Nasty I believe).

Way more better than old single track like Wild Frontier or Omen...

offtopic thoughts

If I poorly categorize the people/fans posting here (I specifically said posting, not visiting) that would be.

1) Die hard fans. Fans who visit this forum even every day, not only when many new things happen, but also the silent years. Some registered way back in the 56K modem era long before Sep 2006 restart of BK. Some of them are so die hard, that maybe know whats Liam's favorite drink or socks brand. Kidding of course you got my point.

2) Just Prodigy fans. People who also know well the Prodigy stuff and come here once in a while to check if there is something new, a remix or a live gig clip etc.

3) Prodigy fans sometime in the past. OK you being a fan in MFTJG or TFOTL era when the band was more popular, or because you just following them on FB and Instagram and saw an announcement on your feed, doesn't make you NOW a fan. You like EDM and other like 50 bands/artists, like we do, but Prodigy are not your favorite or top5 to say the least.

This is not a Fan-O-Meter post. Neither a competition who has the biggest Prodigy dick or opinion value.

People in the third category you have the every right to express your opinion in a public forum like this. And *maybe* you are more objective on the matter, because hype doesn't affect you like me. But when some of you are only posting once in every 4 years, with ONLY negativity and trash, be ready in best case scenario to be ignored, or worst case scenario to be also judged with negativity. Because guess what... we also have the right to express our opinion. This is not FB/reddit, it is a FAN forum.

People in the other categories, especially the first. I also feel sad when I read bad comments (especially from randoms) about something I love. We must just deal with it, hoping they clarify why they feel that way. They have the every right. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree, and sometimes we have to agree to disagree. We can't put a rule "hey you only have 3 posts, you are not allowed to speak" thing.

PS: Mods feel free to delete this cause offtopic.

It’s funny to see Howlett once again pull down his zip and piss in all the fans faces with extremely poor copy & paste Ableton music....I mean what is this new track all about,ITS HORRIBLE and you know it,nobody to this day has beaten Howlett on a musical level in electronic music but it’s one extreme to the next now,the ‘need some1’ vocal is laughable at the very least,I mean WTF!..the ‘only writes music for live shows ‘quote is getting old fast too, what happened to those musical journeys in your tracks Liam, the first 16 bars of your music nowadays is just copy, paste with a breakdown and PISS POOR OVER DISTORTED SYNTH SOUNDS

IM FINALLY OUT

Not a fan of this tune at all, I have it at the bottom of the barrel with shoot down, ibiza and fuel my fire. Not sure why they chose this tune as the breakthrough.

Hope the album is better. I agree with HSVV perfect write up though, I have invested a lot into this band and have learned to accept the poor tunes.

I like Need Some1. It's a good track. Not the best ever, but really good. The sample works well in it. Could have been a bit longer though. The video version however isn't better in my opinion, it gets too repetitive. Not a fan of the video anyway. Doesn't really fit the music, too much SMBU recycled. Listening to the track frequently. Bring on the album I say!

I really like NS1, liked it ever since hearing the live version. Nice little tricks like the screams and the guitar.

To me, it's dirty and raw and gritty and simple. Better direction than Omen and Nasty.
