That main synth sound though, wtf has he done to it?
It sounds like Keith wheezing at the side of the stage.

must say i like main synth more in regular version also. i can draw connections that regular version is more up beat, so the synth is more pitched up.

I honestly think that this track misses a lot. I like it of course, but it's very messy and the previous live version was much better. The best version remains the live one in Bratislava, but, again, we're facing again something that already happened with warning. The very first version was something of other planets and then? First Warning? Of course a good track, but what a shame! So much has been lost. I hope in a more convincing strike 2.

Bratislava version of AWOL was dull as fuck.
the only thing that is sadly missing from this version of AWOL is the really catchy chorus of the most commonly played live version. That sounded triumphant as fuck.
The "in how many ways can you distort the human mind" voice comes from a film trailer... i guess Liam didnt want to pay up for that sample.

This new version of AWOL is dogshit quite frankly. The original had energy and bollocks. What's going on with those weak arsed approximations of the original synth sounds? Sounds like a fan remake where they have had a good crack at it but not captured the original essence. It's boring as well. Get Your Fight On, on the other hand is one of my favourite Prodigy tunes.

If by synth sound you guys mean the "kazoo" sound, it's not different. If you've been listening to the live version of awol long enough you'd realize that there's two distinct "kazoo" sounds. So first there's the intro, then the build, then the drop, then drums, then drums + kazoo sound version one, THEN drums + kazoo sound version two, and then the chorus. Liam just didn't use kazoo sound version one, just like how he cut "let yourself go" from the chorus. Everything else from the original and awol beats (except the vocals) is in strike one, albeit more scattered. Complain all you want about the track, but I think we all know that live versions of yet-to-be released tracks are always better than their studio versions... *Cough* World's on Fire *Cough.*

Actually I can't help but wonder if Liam deliberately releases different versions to what he drops live to spite fans like myself, Rapraiz and Matthias who take gratuitous liberties with fake bootlegs. As in, the surprising (and sometimes disappointing) differences could well be our fault.

Such a cool name for a really shitty track. Best thing is Jackson's vocal. I would love to hear an album with just Liam and Jackson grinding it out. I might be the only one though, lol.

I LOVE this version of AWOL. I'm so glad that it's Awol beatjam reworked! I think that the older versions were cheesy, I think that the chorus was lame as hell. The way it's delivered mind you, the lyrics themselves, well... Fans shouldn't try to to make sense of The Prodigy lyrics. The sonic value that they bring to this version is really cool, and beatjam just has so much energy, it's awesome.
That middle part isn't as good though. The synths used to have an extra layer on them that made them sounds more angry. I'm also disappointed that we don't get the beat over those synths, but apart from that, it's an awesome b-side. I think that AWOL turned out well compared to the initial cheese that I felt the first time I heard the live version (don't start me over that boring Bratislava version, it's ok at best for a demo). Think about it, who else can deliver such an awesome energy track?
I think that Liam changes stuff in his tracks because he gets bored of them over time, even though that means he sometimes wastes some great sounds. I'm gonna guess it's part of the reason why Keith got angry over him scrapping HTSAJF. He also doesn't listen to fans, that's a well known fact by now. In the end, can we really critisize someone as successful over the course of 25 years?

Overall AWOL is very close to Warning, and I'm glad to it! Now Liam should release Warning as b-side in a future EP.

Is it Paul Jackson on AWOL really? I thought it's a female voice.

I thought its female too but maybe its Jacksons. We will wait to see the credits when its officially released. As for the track its the better b side than mescaline imo. And I alredy said that Im in love with the track. Hope Liam will put it in the set.

Its similar to other TDIME Tracks for me. Something is missing in every track. I like that version, but the synty sound that changed is shit. but hands down, we've got AWOL !!
