funniest thing is that bands, record labels and music websites in general absolutely don't pay attention to SEO or any proper internet marketing concepts yet they could gain shitloads of benefits by spending some time on it

A standard css type site for the prodge is fine as long as its updated regulary, with these sites content is king and agree its great to just get to the information really quickly...
thats if theres information to look at and sadly after 'relaunching' their website all they have to offer is a few gigs and a record label title.
Why not of waited until they actually have something to say, just seemed like a big anti-climax as they could of easily stuck a few older tracks/demo's etc.. to please the fans
You don't need flash to make a great looking site. I'm not commenting on the technical side of the site at all. The problem with the new Prodigy site is the look, the image. From a professional designer point of view the new site looks very cheap and amateurish. It gives a message to the outside that the band is in decline. The image that a site gives of a band (or company, product, etc) is the most important thing. A site needs to look professional and credible graphics and design wise. Something wich the new Prodigy site clearly fails to do.

Who said you need flash to make a great looking site?
I said for some things flash is perfect, depending on the client and purpose of the site. I work in both so know the pro's and con's and agree for the prodigy they didnt and do not need a flash site.
But i agree using this shitty template does reflect on the band and the management, you could easily create something with better cms that would link into flikr etc.. and not be so clunky. the new site isnt 'designed' its just layed out as a standard and been customised slightly.
A big dissapointment

All an all Prodigy is still about music and not about flashy websites.. I couldn't care less if they only had a plain white site with black text telling the news and tourdates, that is all I need from a website I just want to hear new stuff live.. that's all I care about right now

a plain white site with some black sketches about some news (and a fuckin loop playin in background) would be pretty cool

nag nag nag bitch bitch bitch ........
that's all I hear around here..
Cheezes fucking christ, people...the new site wasn't made so the big shot web designers could analyze it.....It wasn't made for hardcore fans that allready know the band either.....! Get some perspective.....
Can't wait till the day the album finally arrives!
"Oh but there's no trigger or nuclear on it....then it's a shit album"
x 10 000.

usability is the key to a great website
and using a CMS is the way to go, because it is informations that is important, not some flashy graphics

i agree its all nag nag nag .
though i couldnt agree more ith people on in here in 200-2001 when i went on that cool bgat site i was age 10-11 and with that back to skool loop i was so fucking excited , though i had a dial up connection back then so i could go and make a christmas dinner and those misiles would still be stuttering up and down when i came back.
What i think is more cool with this site is that the band can keep in contact , i remeber when liam posted a message on the aono site about a year or 2 ago about somebody who dissed him and how he plays live .... now that would just be an example but it would be cool if once a month liam +kieth and maxim could keep us up to date
I also feel liam has good reason not to put 15 second loops on the site because he would just get the "nag nag nag " dont like it blah blah
and people poaching the loops and making things out of it and big myths could come out of the loops and blah blah

Why are people bitching about how crap the site is? I doubt highly that a bunch of bitchers on an internet forum is going to change The Prodigy website.
