No, it wasn't a 7 year gap between Metallica albums it was 6 years. Re-Load came out in November 1997 and St.Anger came out in June 2003, so actually it was even a few months less than 6 years...

Been away a week and some nice news to come back to. Liam said all of the tracks on the new album are all 'live' tracks. The April tour should be amazing if this all happens to be true.

the invaders tour as well, im sure atleast 2 or 3 more new tracks would be played.

I just talked to Michael Been and he says the album will be released next month. And seeing as how Mr Been is always spot on accurate, I'll believe him.
