Yeah I think FOTL is alright how it is.... This new package though is shit compared to MM4TJG and EE. Maybe they can chuck some good shit in when FOTL is 20 years old??

Hmmm, maybe. But when I compare original album from 1997 with 3 TFOL remastered tracks on TLTS, then I can say that remastered ones sounds better on big speakers.

That is definitely true. I hear the same difference when I compare their law cd with fat cd

Predictable pile of wank. I hate to moan, but how about Breathe Dubstep? We Do What The Fuck We Want? That track Liam supposedly did with Skin? Also a remaster is pointless, but then again with what is included on this release the whole thing is pretty pointless, even the date is out by several months...
Also, on an unrelated, but interesting to note point, if you think about it Firestarter is 16 and a half years old now lol...

Maybe it´s the fact XL will release this and not Liams label - maybe he is disappointed about XL concerning the past ... so why he should invest some work putting old rare material on it ?
I mean, even more interesting - especially for the fans - this package will be, even more money XL will earn for it. So it needs way more unreleased material to get attention, but Liam has his hands on this material ... and this kind of success with that anniversaire release of FOTL maybe Liam does not grant for XL-recordings.
Do not misunderstand me: I think it´s not about the money .... I think, Liam dropped the subject.
Same happens years ago to a German EBM band years ago. They leave their label and some years later this label released a BEST OF from this band. The Band said: Do not buy this - it´s just for milking the cow ....

Yeah, but Liam commissioned the remixes... he picked the artists.
So he had some say in it.
And I think the band knows the fans want rarities, we've only been crying about it since the beginning of the frigging band for fuck's sake.
Just feels like they dropped the ball on making this a truly special release.
Who knows, maybe the 20 year anniversary... but doubt it.
I mean they obviously know this is gonna be compared to the Experience and Jilted expanded editions.
Most fans probably wouldn't have be bothered as much if it just had at least FotL era's b-sides on it.
But I would think they would remaster it a bit, at least make it louder, because the album is quiet compared to more recent releases and there would by a discrepancy in volume between the two CDs since the remixes are 2012 mixes.

^^^ yeah but Liam has a good relation with xl so i don't think he minds. Also i get the impression there will be 3 discs. One withe album, the 2nd similar style with the other re-releases(bonus tracks from that era, live versions) and one disc with the remixes from todays ''cool'' kids

[cuckooland] This 'revealed' tracklist is a wind up conjured up by Nick and Liam to get us all bellyachin' and there will be plenty bonus goodies after all [/cuckooland]

Louder FOTL means clipping and less room for bass. Liam realised this when he scrapped the original master of IMD and did it again to allow more room for bass. We really don't need a louder version, it's perfectly loud enough already. If the new remixes are louder then that's because they're too loud at the expense of the audio quality...

The "Zed's Dead Remix" is just horrible..
in the first seconds it sounded like an average remix but when he droped the Dub-Step part he totally lost it...i know it's a short clip but i feel that the structure (of the tune) makes no fucking sence... what a fucking lazy effort.
On the other hand "Noisia" delivered a fantastic remix :D and gave me a good reason to buy this album.
