saw this at the official V-Festival website :
Prodigy Mini Interview
Fire starting, deep breathing, angular haircutting, multi crossover everything band Prodigy are back in V-ville. A bit like a fussy person eating bacon, they’ll be sure to strip the fat from the land and maybe give our generation a little jilt on the way. We shot the breeze with Essex’s favourite adrenaline inducers to see how things we’re going…
1. So, you’re playing V this year, what’s going to be on your rider?
Hot curled up sandwiches, out of date crisps, warm, cheap beer and a bottle of High Karate!
2. Which of your songs is a sure fire festival pleaser? (or, if you have played before, which song got the crowd going crazy!)
Spitfire always kicks off for us
3. How will you prepare for your set this year? Turn up a good hour before determined to rock the crowd…
4. What is your essential festival item? Helicopter
5. Who would be your dream V Festival headliner (dead or alive)? The Wurzels
6. What is your most memorable festival experience/moment? Headlining the main stage at V Chelmsford in ‘97
and here it says that their finishing recording :
From their early days on the underground rave scene, to the becoming one of the most influential bands in Britain, The Prodigy have notched up 15 Top 20 singles and 4 Number One albums in the UK alone. Renowned for their blistering live performances, The Prodigy seem to be the only band who can comfortably headline a rave one week, before tearing up a rock/indie festival the next. This year sees their return to V to headline the 4Music stage in Chelmsford on 16th and Staffordshire on 17th Aug. They are currently finishing recording on their 5th studio album.

Like they say, nearly finished. They're probably just finishing off a few tracks and doing the last 2 or 3 tracks for the album. Probably carry on doing that until about Feb/March 09 and then master it shortly after...
It'll be out in 2009, I'm certain of it...

Since the news in 2005 about a new album coming, nothing's really changed drastically. It's September 2008 now. All these bits of news, big or not, are gonna put more pressure on it. Every week or so I see a new topic about someone finding 'news' about the album release date, and I'm thinking... does it really matter? It makes me nervous. All these dates, interviews, false promises, people connected to The Prodigy saying this and that, the constant delays. It doesn't make the waiting easier AT ALL for me. In fact, I'm constantly reminded by hw long I've already been waiting, and for how long I still have to wait.
What can we do after this newstopic? Wait a bit more. These topics get boring.
By the way, nothing against you personal ElectronicPunk. It's just that I'm tired of this y'novatamin?

Yes, I'm sick of the false hope, or faith... whatever you wanna call it.
