"Glastonbury is often looked upon as the King of Festivals. But, personally, I'm not a big fan of it. The weather is always shit, it's really hard to get to. So, the whole Big Day Out experience we rank up there with the best."

Shame was hoping they would be booked for this years Glasto, looks like that aint gonna happen!

At first I was disappointed to hear they are doing the boiler room... every time I go to the BDO I check out the boiler room and kinda feel like I'm hanging with little kids who are all standing around trying to look hard.. and guess most of the time when I've been in there its been just the standard un-exciting formula type dance music playing in there..

But thinking about it now, I know its where The Prodigy should be playin.. I'm going to be right up front and be closer to the band than I would be if it the band were on one of the main stages.

Alot of people who don't know anything about The Prodigy are truly going to be shocked when they hear how supreme they are compared to the shit they are used to hearing.

boring.same old stuff, wish journo's would ask decent questions instead of same old crap

of course the critics are gonna say its not the prodigy of old, they always re invent what they do, they never sound like anyone else so why would they sound like old prodigy, they are too talented for that, the sooner critics stop harking back to when they were such an important aspect of british music culture the better, those times have gone, the prodigy will never reach the heights of creativeness they did in the mid 1990's.. its time to look at the now and what they will be like... it will never be as good so critics should stop comparing...

Yeah especially because the past will always be better than the present in your mind. You remember mainly all the good things from the past and you idalise what happened earlier compared to what happens now.

I think the same thing happens with music. Of course you can easily compare the cd's you have but the whole feeling and hype about past albums will always set high standards for forthcoming albums and if the new album doesn't bring part 2 of what you remember you might get dissapointed.

I am confident though that the new album will blow me away. I was very hyped when AONO was going to be released. Then I heard it and I felt it was good but not what I expected. -I saw that as a good thing but it took me some time to like that album. I still like it but I see why a lot of people were dissapointed.

Now I feel AONO was a very important album 'cause even though there's some great tracks on it, imo it is possibly the weakest of Prodigy albums BUT that album has made the way for IMD to actually bring a better feeling for the forthcoming present.

IMD sounds fresh to me and in interviews the band seem very confident about it too which is a very promissing thing. Also the clips on youtube of live-performances of IMD tracks sounds fresh and devilish. So possibly the forthcoming hype will be better than the past. You can only hope...

yes it sounds like some people definitely think the band will never reach the same heights (in popularity) as they did in the FOTL era. Those people have made up their mind already, and if the press thinks like this then they are pretty ignorant. It's not impossible that this album could take over the commercial airwaves.

I agree with Lectro bout AONO, is it their weakest album? To me it is, but hey... One of them has to be looked at as the weakest and to me AONO is pretty good. It also took me time to see it in the light it was supposed to be seen.. Instead of looking at it the way I had imagined it would sound all those years of waiting...

All I know is.. IMD is going to be wicked.

IMD is going to be a big banger that's for sure. ASs for creativity and stuff IMD is going to fulfill my expectations.

there is no nostalgia at all, i don't only remember good things as you say, purely as creativeness the prodigy will never emulate what they did with experience, jilted and fat of the land... that is for sure, thats not a criticism . i love this band so much and have spent most of my life following them, saying they wont be as creative is something that happens to most musicians, it doesnt make me sad i will just take this new album for what it is, im buzzed about it as much as any record they have made, im just saying your talking about two complete differing levels of quality from the two era's..
