Talk about a head scratcher. Never would I have guessed I would see a prodigy article on ESPN. Its a pretty bad review(not him saying the album is bad just the writing is), that almost seems like a waste of time but I thought it was weird enough to warrant its own topic

There's one thing I liked in this article. The thing about "Stand up" being the best song Oasis never wrote. :D

After "The Fat of the Land" made it through approximately 150 spins in my college dorm room, I found the band's second album, "Music for the Jilted Generation," in a used bin. I liked it, too, even though the style is more laid-back and approaches being a standard electronica CD.

I wish those spanish people would have taken his phone and him to some dark alley.

the day anyone worries what an american journo thinks of the prodigy will be a sad day, the worst music generally comes from there except a handful of bands, backward fuckers

Did he say the album was bad?

I think it's a good review

hey man it's true there's loads of crap but I can't agree that American music in general is bad - what about all the great rock bands?

and I doubt anyone cares what that guy had to share about The Prodigy on ESPN

for me that's very weird review but in a good way because it isn't such linear or similar like most of others (everyone spoke about sound and mostly same things)
very alternative and different i must say

I suppose The Eagles could be seen as one, though I'm not exactly a big fan.

I think that in general, English music is better than American music, but America has always been the place for hip hop (with Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, etc...)

True! But since the end of the 90's the hip hop has been going down hill..

geez backwards fuckers is a bit harsh, someone must have touched you when you went to a concert in the US

I think ESPN reviewing the album in ANY way, good or bad, is GREAT coverage for the band. That's a SPORT website, that just means more fans for them.

yeah man I know that the biggest rock bands are British (Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath etc) but that does not mean that American rock music is not good enough to be on the hot list (and if you ask most of the British rock musician what was their inspiration most of them will say that it's the American blues for example). What I want to say is that everybody who loves music knows that the UK has always been the hottest place when it comes to rock and electronic music..BUT you should also admit that the US have also really really great influence on rock music - Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Blondie, Joan Jett, Frank Zappa, Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Guns 'n Roses, The Ramones and modern bands like the Foo Fighters, The Killers, The White Stripes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many many more.

im still hoping that IMD starts to sell more and goes back up the US charts, i think it only got to No. 58 or something when it was released there.

With reviews like this it might build up the bands amercian profile again, especially when they touring there.

Let me correct you a bit, all American music is utter crap, except "black" music.
Who can say old-school house is bad?
