Yippee !!!

Quote:
In 1999, The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett released The Dirtchamber Sessions, a sprawling 50-track DJ mix initially produced for the BBC’s Breezeblock show. Regarded by many as one of the best DJ mixes ever released, Howlett told Big Shot that he’s thinking about releasing the follow-up next year.

“I think there’s a definite demand for people who’d like to hear another one. I really enjoyed doing it, and it came at the right time,” Howlett told us. “It was during the time after Fat of the Land where we had finished touring and I had time on my hands. I think next year would be a good time to put another one out. It all started as a Radio 1 mix for Mary Anne Hobbs. The original version had The beatles’ “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and we couldn’t get clearance for those tracks. The next one could be interesting.”

Read more about The Prodigy in Issue 27, which goes on-sale at the end of the month.

i think i would rather he spend his time finishing up some good b-sides of prodge material than mixing another dirt chamber

lol..
since when does he care about demands?

i demand a proper third single with b-sides, not some insulting rubbish like WD single.

Good news. Back in the early 00's I actually thought Dirtchamber Volume 2 would come out in 2009 a full decade later, but we got an album which is better so I ain't complaining! But this does pose the question, what of those 3 or 4 collabs they did before IMD which Liam said will probably come out some time after the album? With Dirtchamber Volume 2 being talked about instead it could mean they'll never see the light of day. I'd love a Dirtchamber Volume 2, but I'd take actual Prodigy tracks over it any day...

...really?
That's cool! I remember it got great reviews in Norway...deemed "a better purchase than The Fat of The Land".

I'm not into dj-mixes at all, I have this one and the chem's one...so I wouldn't know.

Liam PLEASE do not waste time doing this. start work on more prodigy shit instead or producing other people instead. You already did Zane Lowe and Dirtchamber 1 we are good there.

I told you once before... The 2 albums contract with Cookin Vinyl, is about IMD and dirtchamber vol 2... I don't see liam writing and RELEASING stuff soon... Anyway we still have prodigy gigs and that's all we have to enjoy with

Well, he does spend a lot of time actually making music, so I guess mixing it could take a bit less. I think Dirtchamber kicks quite well. Was just listening to it the other day. He did one hell of a job.I dont even care if he fucking cut&paste it, it still sounds great.

I wish Liam's 1991 XL Recordings Rave Mix was released on CD. I love that mix, I think that's my fave of Liam's cut & paste mixes...

It is great...but seriously...no where near the best. Not complaining, they just make it out to sound like it is a masterpiece.

It kinda is a masterpiece, for Liam anyway as its all the tracks he really likes, and its done well!
Personally i wouldnt call it a DJ mix though, there is no way he did that using decks and a mixer, there is just too much going on too quickly.
Im sure it was done with software, which is cool but not a 'DJ' mix.
