Quote: THE Prodigy have put their longevity down to the fact they never shy away from internal scrapping.
The legendary dance outfit picked up Best Single at the Kerrang! Awards bash on Monday.
And fifth album Invaders Must Die has put them back on the map, making them huge draws at this summer’s festivals.
Beats man Liam Howlett, 37, told me: “This album is the result of the last 10 years and coming from some really hard times.
“We got back in touch as friends again. We never split up, even though people like to say we did.
“We felt comfortable with finally nailing this album and whatever happened after it wasn’t important as we felt success from the studio.
“The next album will probably be recorded while we are still on tour, but first we need to have a bust-up.”
Liam and bandmate Keith Flint, 39, were on top from when I hooked up with them backstage, happily parading their K gong decorated with a Barbie doll.
With his pierced tongue firmly in his cheek Keith added: “We are jiving and putting little one-liners towards each other at the minute.
“Then on Thursday I’ll leave Liam a really nasty voicemail in the early hours just to start the paranoia going.
“We’ll leave it for a year or more maybe and then come back and get stuck into serious songwriting.”
Since leaving four years betweentheir last disc, The Prodigy have never stopped touring and still have Reading and Leeds Festival to turn into raves this month.
Keith insisted: “It is about the live shows. You can fan your ego by looking at your chart position or Googling yourself. I’ve never Googled myself.
“Everything I do relates to the band and everything I do I think how it may influence the band because it is so precious you can’t pollute it.
“You can’t f*** with this because once you have then there is no coming back – it is always on your mind.”

I don't think that this has to do with Liam. It's the record company. Or am I wrong?
