Quote: The Prodigy Hate Pendulum Comparisons Liam Howlett - frontman of The Prodigy - is annoyed his band keep being compared to fellow electronic group Pendulum. The Prodigy's Liam Howlett doesn't like his band being compared to Pendulum. The mastermind of the electronic dance group - who will be supported by the 'Propane Nightmares' hitmakers at their upcoming gig at Milton Keynes Bowl in South-East England on July 24 - insists they are "f***ed off" that people keep making comparisons between the two acts. He told NME magazine: "People go on about Pendulum being similar to us but they really aren't. I think when you see us alongside each other it's f***ing obvious that we're totally different. "And we're as f***ed off with people going on about that as they are probably." Liam - who featured on the track 'Immunize' on Pendulum's album 'Immersion' - explained while The Prodigy have managed to keep hold of their "rave roots", Pendulum have left their origins behind. He said: "It seems they've broken away from their drum 'n' bass roots, but are still clinging onto it a bit. Whereas we really kept hold of our roots in rave for quite a while, and something new has come out of it. "We managed to keep most of our fans and just build."

I think this has to do with the IMD album (TMTTH, Thunder, Warrior's Dance, Omen Reprise), and hasn't got anything to do with actual new material.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. I'm pretty sure. If Liam already knows what the direction of the new album will be, he's pretty far with the production, which, in my opinion, doesn't sound realistic.

When Fat Of The Land came out in the 90´s poeple compared the Prodigy with the Rolling stones, cos they were the rescuers of rock´n´roll . Liam said "Bullshit, we are not the new rolling stones, let us be the prodigy"
He´s right ....

Its funny because people try and compare Prodigy to other bands or what ever. But they're one of the very few bands who don't fit into a genre or sound like anyone else.
They are a genre, they are just the Prodigy.
Liam has a point, but at the same time why does he give a fuck? He's jsut fuelling the fire..

Oh fuck off, after making a track that sounds exactly like Pendulum, giving them a chance to remix Voodoo People and contributing to their album without really making any fucking difference whatsoever, you actually spend time contemplating why you are being compared to Pendulum all of a sudden?
Its bullshit, Howlett, AND YOU KNOW IT.

yeah exactly, cant really whinge about it when you think about whats gone on in the past..and as for keeping a hold of their rave roots, think that is shite too, they were totally fucked off with rave etc which is why 3 out of their 5 albums were anything like rave or in any way a reflection of their roots in the rave scene..liam does come out with some contradictory shite at times, there is only keith id ever listen too, seems to be the most real..

beats talk for themselves, not the fucking synth line in one track.
and if we talk about people who consume these bands then one has somehow maintained the audience from the begginning, but other moved into the masses and has no face.

Funny funny stuff. Prodigy are way better than Pendulum, but I can't help it if the first thing I thought of when I heard Invaders Must Die (the track) was Pendulum. That feeling has sort of gone away now, but there are some similarities with that track. Aside from that Prodigy are totally different!...
