it comes off silly when you say something like...

there's better and more respectful ways to voice your opinion even if you don't like it

all because Liam jammed a dubstep mix for 20 seconds

he didn't change the entire track, just messed around for a bit

so yes, your reaction is a bit over the top

I see it as it's Liam's response to all the dubstep talk on the forums saying "na na na na na , look at me , I'm playing with some dubstep , na na na na na" :)

I hate that he is going where the herd goes. Dubstep remixes. HE did breathe dubstep, thunder dubstep, now smbu dubstep, always after the original track finishes. He's kinda repeating himself.
But the snippet sounds real good, aggresive. i liked this kinda dubstep more than the bits and pieces in dogbite. A better mix between the track and this would be nice. I mean play this dubstep pat somewhere in the track, but without ruining the pace like he did when he changed firestarter in 2005 for a while

"All the dubstep stuff that's around, we're loving it, but that's not our game. We won't go near it"

"'Our new album won't be dubstep"

Liam the lair

But ok, Smack is just a live experiment, not new album stuff / material ;)

This is just like when Invaders Must Die (the single) came out and everyone was complaining that the new album will sound like Pendulum.

No need to bitch so much. I think almost every genre has some good bits Liam can steal and make them Prodigy. Luckily he doesn't listen to the fans' complaints (does anyone have a problem with IMD today?)

And on a side note... the Pendulum guys went on to create Knife Party, and under that name they produce some nice Dubstep beats... for example Centipede:
http://soundcloud.com/knifepartyinc/kni ... -centipede
(and no, I don't like all Dubstep... but if you're being a snob to entire genres you're probably missing out on stuff you might like)

@gnobal

+1,000 for talking sense

and it's not even like Liam completely reworked it... the only thing he changed was the half time beats with a little bass from his Virus synth. everything else is mainly just the acid line beefed up. all the hate because Liam half timed the beats.

i think it's pretty cool and could spice up SMBU live a bit with some change since we heard pretty much the same mix for over a decade. i expect to hear something a little different live than just the album mix of the track, but that's just me.

Really enjoyed The Prodigy show at the Zürich Open Air!! After not seeing them for 2 years, it was a massive and intense experience again!! :slayer:  :oldcool:

The Weather was truly unkind, heavy rain all night long… Muddy as hell… Tho, this always gives you that special feeling, being an old, dirty cunt. *LMAO* :P

The crowd was crazy and pretty much… :pimp: :pimp: :oldtongue: :oldwink:

Sound system wasn’t the best… Couldn’t hear their voices most of the time… WTF…

The setlis, if memory serves right :

- Intro ( Sirens “Fuck You” )
- World’s On Fire
- Breathe
- Jetfighter
- Omen
- Poison
- Thunda
- Dogbite
- Voodoo People
- Firestarter
- Run With The Wolves
- Spitfire/Spitfast
- Omen ( Reprise )
- Invaders Must Die
- Diesel Power Beats
- Smack My Bitch Up

Encore :

- Take Me To The Hospital
- AWOL
- Their Law

My fav’s were Poison, Run, Omen ( Reprise ) & Diesel Power. Was happy to hear Spitfire/Spitfast returning & listening to the new stuff. The 3 new tracks got a heavy crowd reaction, if you ask me.
So, everything was good. Thanx, for a wicked night out!!

Hopefully, they will bring on some smaller, more intimate gigs as well, in the near future. Would be lovely! :)

BTW – Watched the Chemical Brothers DJ Set as well. Hmmm, was pretty ok, but after a while, it was a bit kinda boring, imho. :?

I'd prefer he stop remixing the old stuff (even if it's dubshit or not) and start writing new material
