Slane is a little town in Co. Meath in Ireland. About 30 mins from Dublin. The venue is held on the Slane castle grounds.
Its owned by Henry Mount-Charles.
Its held huge gigs in the last few years.
Madonna was the last to play there i think but its had U2 there, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy and loads of others.
Its the kinda place that would sell out even before its announced who's playing.
I seriously can't wait for this one!

If I am not wrong, as stuie pointed out, U2 played there back in 2001, with 79.000 tickets sold in 37 minutes (soldout), and some riots in the streets of Dublin by ticketless fans. They played a second gig a week later, but another 79.000 tickets were sold in an hour or so. So it seems Irish are fast!
