I just read on nekosite that Prodigy are going to play Radio 1 Big Weekend in Swindon on Sunday 10th May.
http://www.nekozine.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1240082764
Anyone know if this is true? She says she heard it's the Sunday they are playing on.
It's a festival with free tickets but you need to register for them by Monday morning (tomorrow!) at 10am!
I've just registered in any case, no harm done if they dont play!

I think they get a few good artists these days. See the line up (confirmed so far) here: -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend/2009/lineup/
e.g. Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Deadmau5, 2ManyDJs, etc (although they are on the Saturday where the rumour says The Prodigy may be on on the Sunday).
Worth applying for the free tickets. Better than regretting not applying if The Prodigy are confirmed later on. If you live near Swindon it's got to be worth the chance.

I've applied for Sunday
If I got in, I'd make sure that I check out: Fab & Grooverider, Chase & Status, Kissy Sell Out (he's got skills, hopefully it would be more entertaining than at Wembley) and David Guetta. The Main Stage for Sunday looks pretty shit tbh. Lets see if The Prodigy can do anything about that

Its not like T4 on the beach at all...yes there are some cheesy bands on the bill but they have to cater to all the different music that they play on R1..but when you consider that last year on the second stage they had Justice followed by Pendulum on the Sunday..then its not all that bad
Just remember tho that around 90% of the tickets go to people who live in Swindon and the surrounding area's and that only 5-10% are available for the rest of the country and last year alone over 1/2 million people applied for tickets for the One Big Weekend in Maidstone, Kent...
I've applied also but as I work in Didcot, Oxfordshire and have friends who work at the same place who also live in Swindon...Hopefully I stand a good chance of getting one of their tickets as they are using 10 different address's in swindon from people they know who don't want to go..lol

It was mentioned on BBC2 Sound last week but as there was no other info about I applied for the Saturday
Got my bro to apply for the Sunday but as registering for tickets is now closed I think the Prodge should have made this a bit more public knowledge before the deadline, another FAIL. Get your fingers out guys.

They don't and shouldn't give a fuck about telling us they're playing a free event for the BBC.

It's the BBC that announces the line up. Notice how bands aren't supposed to confirm they are playing certain festivals e.g. Glastonbury until the organisers confirm it. Also, The Prodigy were a late addition to the bill.
At least some of it should be broadcast on Radio 1.

JJ: Fair point but announcing the full line-up the evening the registration ended is slack.
Dezmond: On that view, why should they even mention any bands playing then if it's free for the BBC ?
edit: The band have just announced it on offishal

Not only that...it gets shown all afternoon/evening on BBC 3 Interactive (red button) - they basically show a good portion if not all of each bands set who plays on the main and second stage and also BBC has a 60-90mins highlights programme each evening which in turn is repeated via the red button from monday-friday the week after the event has finished
