The Prodigy has just been confirmed for Indian Summer Festival 2013 in The Netherlands on Sunday June the 16th.
Indian Summer festival is a relatively small festival in The Netherlands but since last year are booking some bigger names but The Prodigy is the biggest band they ever had, did not expect this. According to the organizers they asked who should play and Prodigy came out as most wanted. Line up is a mix of rock and dance with bands and DJ's.
Sunday line up so far:
The Prodigy, Kane, dEUS en The Opposites.
Only dEUS is interesting from the other bands.
The festival is near Alkmaar which is about 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train and only 20 minutes from my hometown

Got my tickets already! It's the weekend after Rock am Ring so seeing them two times that week. I like that.

Great news for the Dutchies! I'm surprised they're headlining ISF though. It's not that big at all, is it? I guess they want to be top of the bill, not a sub headliner. Which would also explain why they're playing Main Square instead of Werchter.

I don't think that's the reason. The company that contracts the artists for festivals like Hurricane and Southside is now working with ISF too. That is probably the main reason that they play the festival. Second, there still is a chance The Prodigy will play Werchter as they need a sub-headliner alongside Rammstein. That would be a killer-combo.

Oh really? Interesting! Didn't know that. Are they also involved with Main Square then? Both dEUS and The Prodigy, as well as a lot of other bands like Bloc Party or The Hives (who are playing Hurricane), are playing there as well. Or is Main Square still involved with Live Nation?
Sorry for all these questions, just interested in all these things
And yeah, I know. But I don't have high hopes on them filling in that spot on saturday to be honest. I really thought they would be closing the festival on thursday after Green Day. Which I heard was originally the idea of the organisation as well. I personally think there's a bigger chance now they'll headline Pukkelpop

They don't work with Main Square, in fact Werchter does! I see MSF as the little Werchter located in France. It makes much more sense for The Prodigy to travel to Werchter after MSF. As for as I know they won't be at Pukkelpop.

Yeah, Werchter is done by Live Nation, that's what I meant. Anyway, would be great to see them at Werchter. But I'm already lowering my expectations since I was very disappointed they weren't in the list of bands they announced today
It's great seeing all these festival announcements, let's hope there's more on the way!

Werchter and MSF are indeed organized by the same people, actually somebody that has some inside info on Werchter recently mentioned that in October Werchter was working on booking The Prodigy but he had not heard if the deal was sealed or not.
I'm glad they are playing ISF instead of Pinkpop Festival which some people thought. ISF capacity is about 30.000 people and will have 2 pop/rock stages, 3 dance stages and an 80's/90's area.

Exactly. I read that as well. They were originally planned to close on Thursday after Green Day but they picked Netsky instead. The same guy stated he doesn't have any information whether they're still in the running for a spot on a different day. mouzz wrote: I'm glad they are playing ISF instead of Pinkpop Festival which some people thought. ISF is seriously expanding indeed. dEUS, The Prodigy and Keane are certainly bands that will keep a lot of people away from Pinkpop this year..

I hope Green Day is headliner and after that The Prodigy closed the stage. I think it's first The Prodigy and than Green Day as it's in the middle of a hometown I don't think they'll continue throughout the night. I'll be there, whatsoever.

Same guy just said Prodigy will not play Rock Werchter as they could not close the deal.

Damn, do you have a source for that? Can't seem to find the forum I've read that guy's posts on anymore..
Anyway, if they're not doing Werchter this year I'll probably be going to MSF as well. Such a pity I'm having exams the day after Indian Summer Fest.

Still nothing official off course.
Organizer of Pinkpop just said in an interview he was offered The Prodigy but declined.. and I'm very glad he did
