and why was this "raw" mix of whatever we want to call it released on german and dutch cd singles and not on early xl cd singles? or even the xl white label promos?
that would make more sense imo

that would make more sense imo I’m guessing that it could’ve been last minute changes to the track or the lack in communication between the labels.

Why has this only "recently" been noticed? Mind boggling! probably some people knew about it but wanted to keep it hidden for some childish and weird reason typical behaviour of some prodigy collectors that I've noticed since the early 00's on the net I don't think many people noticed this. I guess a lot of German and Dutch people probably only knew this 1st version, and the rest of the world the 2nd. But yes, there is a lot of BS with the rare stuff. I could imagine Trigger, No Souvenirs mixes and so on, are shared with the russian fans.

Why has this only "recently" been noticed? Mind boggling! I thought the very same when i heard it yesterday. Though, i like this rough mix even more than the final mix.

well, this one fell under the radar!
has anyone ever been able to properly find the "we're together" vocal sample that was said to have been taken from one of those old MTV Party Zone programs? I want to say I saw a clip years ago of a girl dancing and singing that line before introducing some other track? But I very well may have dreamt that

I've listened to all the youtube audios of this song and none of them is this mix we are talking about so I guess nobody who owns one of these german/dutch releases has ever uploaded this.
Can anybody upload this version please?

well, someone provided me with an mp3 of this (thanks!!) and there are even sample differences. When the beat breaks at 1:40 the normal mix has some backwards effect of the "all together" sample (which is wicked imo) whereas in this "demoish" mix the sample does not change at all and the rhythm breaks after the "all together" voice...
abd there are more things if you listen closely, really amazing...
it's absolutely unbelievable that this has been talked about now in 2021!!!
I have bought records with with issues like this which go for 50-100 pounds (Acen - Trip II The Moon Part 2 is one as the white label promo has minor differences as in this case)

I presume XL Recordings somehow sent the wrong version of the track to Interchord/Torso for their release (I wonder if the Interchord/Torso Vinyl releases contains the same version of the track as their CD releases?). It happened with the "Funky Shit (Mulder Exclusive Mix)" as mentioned by Mulder himself on Discogs: - https://www.discogs.com/Aphrodite-Micky ... ease/94516Quote: mulder 15 May 2010 The version of The Prodigy "Funky Shit" (Mulder Exclusive Remix) on this vinyl version of The Takeover Bid, is an early demo version used to submit it to XL Recordings for approval. This was given to Mixmag by accident and it was too late to change it by the time the test presses came back and the mistake was noticed.

I also noticed some left to right panning on some sounds not on the normal mix. Also the missing cymbals are needed imo.

has anyone also ever noticed just how many songs Liam used that prolonged gong/cymbal sound in? Sooo many of the WEL/Experience era tracks have it sat in the background. You can hear it quite well in this Torso mix. He used it extensively in the WEL EP/demo tape tracks too.

I uploaded it on Youtube for those who have not heard it. I don't know if it will be taken down. Let's see. Also a big difference, is that the clapping sample is not in this version aswell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAxSr0mTKBE

I ordered the Torso vinyl. I will find out soon... I hope... Ha probably send it by mistake, and not aware of it. If not, he probably don't remember.
