Post subject:  Each album - 2 tracks - which?

In the second of my barrage of threads, it's literally the hardest question in the world.

If you could only pick two from each album to make you favourite overall 12 Prodigy tracks, what would they be? For the purposes of this thread, only the album versions count.

Me:

Experience:

Wind it Up

Hyperspeed

Jilted:

Speedway

One Love

FOTL:

SMBU

Narayan

AONO:

Spitfire

Shootdown

IMD:

Thunder

World's On Fire

Enemy:

Destroy

Beyond the Deathray

--------------------

This excludes a lot of tracks which never got onto albums which should have, but that's the point. Over to you.

Here it is :)

EXP:
Everybody In The Place

FOTL:
Smack My Bitch Up
Serial Thrilla

AONO:
Memphis Bells
Wake Up Call

IMD:

If I had to pick only 1 track from each album it will be every first one from my list.

Intriguing list. Our taste in style is clearly very different. We literally agree on three of 12 haha. But that's also the point.

The variety here is incredible. Thanks for all these replies. Some very intriguing choices - some tracks picked that I borderline can't stand. Loving the subjectivity.

Jericho
Hyperspeed
Break & Enter
*Their Law
Smack My Bitch Up
*Breathe
Spitfire
Girls
*Omen
*Warrior's Dance
*Nasty
*Rebel Radio

Tracks with no stars, I'm 100% sure. Tracks with a star can be swapped with: Poison, Narayan, World's on Fire, Wall of Death. It only depends of my feeling of the day. Today is as you can see up here

Yeah it definitely varies with the day and the feeling of the time.

Post subject:  Re: Each album - 2 tracks - which?

hello

experience:

1WIND IT UP
because its just an absolute banger with such a positive vibe

WEATHER EXPERIENCE
this track is just a trip, amazing to listen to when on the influence (and i dont mean booze)

**note: i much prefer listening to the album as a whole since it sounds rreally fking good and i love that its mixed together. such a strong album

jilted:

VOODOO PEOPLE
a powerful blend of breaks, dance music, rock music and voodoo chants. classic dancefloor killer

3 KILOS
a big part of my pot smoking youth, another trippy one

fat of the land:

BREATHE
this one got me into the band, not cause of the fame and glory of this track and album, but because the use of samples and the vibe of the track is out of this world. a guy who makes this track is cleary a genius. thats what i thought back then. and look at the charts these days - every track has 3 to 10 producers. fuck off. listen to this

MINDFIELDS
its hard to pick a second one, but mindfields has so many great elements and i really like the structure of the track, being hiphop at one point and taking the classic prodigy turn and attacking you in your face. awesome bassline aswell

always outnumbered:

WAKE UP CALL
i remember hearing this when the album came out and thought - i need to see em live. a classic prodigy venom that was much anticipated on this album in my eyes.

UNDER MY WHEELS
great use of digital samples n sounds, genius. clearly a very good name for the track, cause youll probably be under the wheels of someone playing this on the car stereo

**note - the original memphis bells of the aono demo mix is a definite favourite of mine

invaders:

THUNDER
the hook from brother culture and the use of it on the song is great. attacker. i think liam sumd it up pretty good - out of space meets justice.

STAND UP
just recently discovered how great this track is - ill play this every time im dj-ing, suits for every mood and every crowd

**note - the original world's on fire would be number 1, but liam kinda ruined it with the album version (the chorus)

the day is my enemy:

WALL OF DEATH
i love the punk rock sound of this one, a perfect example of making rock music sound prodigy, and i love it live. however, the production and beats are a bit too weak for such a strong track

IBIZA
its simple, punk and stupid at the same time, thats the magic of this track for me. i also like jason and he fits on it very well. this one was the first one i liked off this album

**note - rise of the eagles is another favourite, i dont get why they didnt include it on the album. its an awesome blend of prodigy riffs, ska music and a punkrock attitude (even if its a cover)

Yeah, agreed. I love Rise Of The Eagles! So good! The perfect Prodigy electronic punk track.
