Isn't it just bollocks that there is so much Prodigy music we will never get to hear.

First off, MFTJG. Because CDs can only hold a certain amount of tracks, alot of music that was supposed to make the final cut, DIDN'T. Tracks were even cut short to make more space.

Secondly, did anyone else hear how much music Liam had in logic during that Zane Lowe interview? ALOT. ... Though I can't remember the exact number.

Then there's all these tunes that have been played live and never played again, that will NEVER see the light of day.

What's your take on all this?

Liam said in an interview they could've done about nine albums by now, but I see what he means: quantity should NEVER outshine quality.

What he doesn't understand though, that fans see almost all Prodigy material as great quality. On one hand I'm happy he stays true to himself. On the other hand it would be far more interesting to have more material to listen to... you know, just some stuff for the fans.

It's the real fans that go to gigs and listen to fanmade recordings of live shows. I think they (Prodigy) should do more for those people. The reason everyone is recording these gigs is because they're hoping for a unique recording of a track that will only be played live a few times (Trigger, Nuclear, etc etc etc). These recordings will end up on fansites anyway, so why the fuck not share that stuff? It won't hurt their reputation, it's sort of underground (they like underground communities now do they?!), and you'll keep more people exited over longer periods of time.

For now, it's all too quiet with Prodigy. Releasing a demo now and then won't do harm to them at all. When they start putting all these tracks on albums it would be different. But come on... Dead Ken Beats was received well, the Jaws fill too. An immense list has grown through the years. Why the fuck not convert a simple mp3 of it when you aren't planning on releasing it for cash? Or even worse; when they decide to bin the track. HEY. It's like feeding the piranha's. Someone's trash is someone else's treasure. As fans, we love every bit of trash. We already got the lame bad quality live recordings, so sharing a better version doesn't make much difference for the band (as long as those tracks won't make it to the albums).

Above all, Fighter Beat and Black Smoke - (note; never played live), have been released, but Heatwave Hurricane didn't? I'd be ashamed for sharing these less powerful tracks, and binning the badass tracks for some reason we don't really understand. Just out of principles? Fuck principles every now and then. As fans, we fucking love Prodigy music, and that's the fucking bottom line. Throw us a bone sometimes as long as you're binning those tracks anyway. We want the less commercial stuff too. We are the underground Prodigy fanbase, and you need to fuel that to keep that fanbase. That, and keep playing live gigs. That's the shit that matters.

I think we've learned from experience that Liam does not give in easily to demands. I can think of probably 2-3 examples of which he has.

Thats 3 examples where the demand was so high (or in his contract) that he gave in to fans. In fairness he's lightened up with what fans needs are compared to 12-13 years ago. He understands there is a much more loyal fan base than there was back then. We respect that and so does he.

I'm not going to demand anything that Liam doesn't think we deserve to hear anymore. Leave Liam to be the sole person in quality control. If he thinks a track is worth hearing, then we will too

Liam gave us Death Of The Prodigy Dancers off his W30 and then gave us the original (if not fucked around on one) demo tracks from the XL Tape

There's shitloads we all want and all have different views, I still listen to the shitty rip of We Do What We Want from Greece and think that could be a pretty hardcore tune but its gone now and unless Liam gets all nostalgic and does a nice turn like he does now and again we wont get much of it

I did as it happens, just start a thread about this on the official forum. I'm not sure why Liam stopped putting demos up on the site. I know they were few and far between, but it was great to get Spacehopper, DOTPD, Demo Tape tracks and Eddie Cochran.

I must admit though when each of these got put up, there was always a slew of whinging comments from people. About how it was'nt the greatest Prodigy track ever. So maybe Liam saw them and took it to heart and thought, 'right then you all can f**k right off if you think you're getting Trigger Instrumental now!'.

But i thought id stick a poll up on the site as he obviously reads posts judging from the colabs thread response.

Thing is, i don't think it dilutes the quality of there other releases, (maybe Liam thinks it will), even if they are demos and junked versions, just look at the drummer tape tracks. The average casual fan dosent really pay much attention to them and so what. But they are golddust to Hardcore fans, folk that have stood by the band through the hard times.

I know sometimes Liam uses bits and bobs from unused tracks, but surley hes finished with the really old stuff from WEL through to AONO?

Stuff like We eat Rhythm and Titan, (which probably should have been on Their Law).

Or Time to get funky and raw , trigger, nuclear, (all metioned by others).

TBH i could'nt really give a toss if i never hear No souveniers as 1). I've never heard the Orginal so don't know what i'm missing and 2). The Unkle mix was wank. But the Live only tracks can be such a tease.

Would be nice if Liam released like 100 CD's with unreleased songs and demo's. But you have to be stupid if you really believe this'll happen. I'm actually quite happy with what they released so far. Don't think there are so many different bands that share their demo's with the fans. (aprt from Michael Jackson but hes dead and his family need money)

This doesn't mean it can stop here though. Now that Liam made us interested about how many stuff there actually is on that holy machine of him, we all want him to release it. But a lot of people will get dissapointed if they don't understand this clearly. So I just wanted to let ya'll know...

I guess they'll release another album or 2 now... Demo's will pop-up randomly on the internet.

I don't see why, it's happend before, from 2004-2008 Liam put Demos and Unreleased stuff up on the official site and myspace. No reason why he wouldn't start again if he thought fans will really treasure them. Plus it would be a great Christmas Pressie for the fans on the 20th anniversary year.



Quite a few bands and Artists i listen to have unreleased and demo tracks on their sites, (ie. Amon Tobin, DMX Krew, Cylob).

Even Maxim, Leeroy and Keith put full demo versions of their solo stuff on Fallen Angel/Myspace/Nekosite pages.
