Hello. I made the topic to appreciate this beast of a track. One of Liam's finest creations, which could stand amongst the best from Experience and Jilted times. It has the power of a proper The Prodigy track, combined with the tempo of their earlier rave stuff, not to mention the riffs and basslines that make your head blow up. And obviously, a couple of silly melodies which are a key ingredient of a proper Liam track as well. Hell, he even managed to re-use something from Omen, and it actually worked well! Now that's something... and the closing breakdown. What a masterpiece. The fact that it isn't really played at all by the band live is something beyond my understanding. Seeing it live would make me have tears in my eyes, I am 100% sure of it. There are more tracks that I love from TDIME, especially in a live setting, but none has that raw energy of Destroy. (OK, the title track comes close...) I had the pleasure to hear how Destroy drops in a club, and it's devastating. People were moshing so intensely that I thought the DJ will stop playing it due to health and safety concerns. You think other The Prodigy tracks are so good that they are scary? You thought Run was about wolves? You think Nasty is about werefoxes? Destroy is about fucking grizzly dolphin killer whales ripping the heart out of your chest. This shit is so dangerous that your headphones need leaden coating to prevent you from radioactive contamination while listening to it. To those that somehow don't appreciate the track yet, consider watching those live videos to change your mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcqAwuDMA2khttps://youtu.be/Q6lTqwT-UMU?t=1508DESTROY!

One of my least favourite tracks on the album.
OK I'm out.

I love 'Destroy'. It's the evil Acid stab bass line that makes it for me, especially when it gets distorted later in the track. It's a shame this Future Funk Squad remix will probably never be released (if it was ever finished). It could have been commissioned or maybe Glen just did it for fun. Someone should ask him about it. https://www.facebook.com/63003860702/vi ... 758375703/The 8bit cover by Sixthclone is good too. https://youtu.be/zZ3qrG6yADgI also love 'Destroy The Melody'.

definitely took me back in time that one, even when we had the demo with the rapper. i always thought liam would do well with stuff like that but he always avoided anything that could even remotely be classified into a genre

To be honest I wasn't impressed by the demo at the time. I didn't see a lot of potential, the production was obviously very basic, and the rapping didn't fit much (also, the lyrics are kinda ridiculous, but, well, it's The Prodigy, fuck you and your sugar bowl). I wished they'd leave only a few lines (chorus?) and let Maxim rap instead of Wiley. Rapraiz did a good job on the remake (destroy+destroy the melody), it's quite nice, although it's impossible to fix the rapping. Or maybe Destroy simply doesn't have the proper structure for a rap track. It's as non-rap as it can get for me. But I like it that way

Any news on your Prodge remix atm, is it coming out? also top work on the Chems remix, need some FFS beats soon! Quote: Hey man! Oddly enough just finishing prodge remix, going to see Liam tomo So not sure if Liam is sitting on it for now or it's been scrapped?

Nice thread. Deserves the appreciation and it's definitely one of the top 3 tracks on the album (Along with Rebel Radio and Roadblox).
Also, it's miles better than the Wiley version. That evil riff and awesome ending make it a winner.

I still can't understand the love for this tune..to be honest I only dig the short downtempo part at the end.
