if you listen to firestarter (Instrumental) you'll hear it perfect
but could anyone care to tell me what that effect is etc ?
Just reverse a bit of the sample and add reverb... orrr... just use reverse reverb if you have the effect. simple as

Oracle: Agreed. Not many VST's and even few hardware even have that. But, yeah, you're right.
MCMaxim: If you're using a MIDI controller to play notes and if it has velocity, turn on the velocity control on the filter by maybe 50-75% and the harder you physically play the notes, the more the filter will open up. It'll give you more dynamics. If you don't have a controller, just draw some velocity changes into whatever it is you're using.

yea man, i've only got one thing that does a reverse verb. great feature though
