They are actually called gauntlets and you can buy them from replica armour costumers. They look like this inside:

Just google for 'armour gauntlets' if you want to find other online shops.

I'm not sure what the legality of wearing them outdoors in your country would be. They might be classed as an offensive weapon..

Thanks for that, not seen one anywhere before. I'm a size 10-12 though and that's a large, I presume for a large man. Hmmm, dunno. Could ask them if they can do other sizes.

And I'm still going to knit one :)
