We are all guilty of it
I absolutely loved FOTL and for me that was the benchmark that the group set way back.
Everything since i've always compared - don't really rate AONO
It's starting again, listening to FOTL tonight has reminded me how great this album was. From what i've heard of IMD its good but do you think it will live in the shadow of IMD, is the bar set too high?

Er, I think you mean Jilted being the best one tbh.

as much as I like Jilted I prefer FOTL, it's what got me into them.
I do like the tunes on jilted but like the accessibility of FOTL, all down to personal preference i guess.

Just joshin' with you. FOTL is a good album but I can't listen to it all the way through without skipping unlike Jilted. I don't think they'll ever make another album as good as that again imo. Liam was at his creative peak around then and a lot of the sounds on that album were very fresh at the time. That's not something that's gonna be replicated too easily in this day and age I'm afraid but I still hold high hopes for IMD, although I get the feeling it won't be as complete an album as Jilted or say....Dig Your Own Hole (which is my fav album ever).

dig your own hole, now you've got my attention!
i didn't really get the scene too early with regards to prodigy, got forcefed on a diet of disposable pop until I started going out and seeing what music was there.
SMBU was what introduced me to the prodigy, chemical beats was what introduced me to the chemicals. Exit planet dust was good but DYOH was so much better.
I just think sometimes we all get a bit nostalgic, to be fair I dont care if neither band or group make their best album as long as I enjoy it!

Whereas for me, AONO is the only album I can go through without skipping a track, its my fav (I know I'm on my own here but hey, i dont care ) Jilted follows AONO for me, I love most of the songs on there, but for me it could survive without a couple of them. I like IMD will be a great addition to their library, it has elements from each album, everyone will be pleased by it in some way or another, may be it all the tracks, or just a few outstanding ones. I just wonder how much of it is going to survive for future gigs when the next album comes out. Take AONO for example, 12 tunes and only 1 is played live. Which ones will now stay in the setlist for good alongside the ones there now?

New generation of listeners are coming with IMD.
i see me 12 y.o nephew getting hes eyes shine like i did when i was that old listening FOTL first time.
not that it is ment to be for 12 y olds. but its so fresh and new.
this unexpected and fresh sound dont catch people who has old and developed sense of music already.

1. Jilted
2. FOTL
3. Experience
4. AONO
in that order. And soon to be:
1. Jilted
2. IMD
3. FOTL
4. Experience
5. AONO

another top of prodigy albums/which is the best?
anyway so far this album sounds to me .at least the energy of it,like all the other 4 albums compresed into one.and they actually succeded in making a fat of the land 2,but with a more dance feeling to it.just brilliant,it will make everyone happy:the punks, the rockers, the ravers.

I feel exactly the same...AONO is the only album ive been able to listen to without skipping or thinking somethings slow so your not alone....i dont really have a favourite prodigy album altho Ecperience is my least favourite. Like the other 3 equally but yeah...jilted and fotl have more standout tracks but AONO is more consistent in my mind.

I think any singles released that have maxim or keith on vocals will stay in the live set because that's what the tracks were written for (apparently). I'm pretty sure they got maxim and keith vocals on this album SO they can actually play songs live and do vocals rather than randomly making up lyrics to go along with the samples (and guest vocals) like they had to do with AONO.

i'll be honest in terms of albums, i dont really listen to fotl at all to be honest because i've heard them so much, i listen to jilted aono and what we have of imd mostly, there all different genres so comparing them would be pretty hard, like omen and smack my bitch up ? how could u compare that there two totally different songs in my opinion, as long as i like the new shit im happy with it

Like Cogglesz said....
Its like comparing Diesel Power to Hotride, or Comparing Out of Space to SMBU, or even IMD to No Good, the list just goes on.
Thats what I love about the Prodigy, (TO ME) just being an obsessed fan of The Prodigy is like being an obsessed fan of 10 Bands. Because of their musical diversity. Because of them I've become more open to other kinds of music I would never of listened to in my PRE-PRODIGY days.

thats so true ninja, it is like 10 bands indeed but to think warriors dance and run with the wolves is on the same album, genre wise there completely opposite, im sure lots of people who aren't obsessed will be like wtf ? but i digg that because as the mood changes so does the music we listen to.
i also feel that will effect the big poll of "Favourite IMD Track" when that album is released, i know it will effect me, i'll probably say take me then change my mind after one night

yeah I'm the same, I change my mind almost on a daily basis on which all time Prodigy tune is my fav, same with the albums...
For Example..
I can be telling someone how wicked FOTL is and then they might say "what about Experience" and then I'll be thinking... "yeah its good but not as good as (whatever)" and then I run through the tracks in my head...
Hmmm, Out of Space, Weather Experience, Ruff in the Jungle... Jericho.. etc etc.. you know.. I'll be thinking all of the tunes..
Then it hits me.
Experience is wicked..
Now I just used those 2 albums as an example, just to show how often I change my mind on which I like the best... Pointless post I know but yeh..
