I was havin a drink with some friends who are big prodigy fans and some who were just casual fans we were talkin about aono its strengths and weaknesses. Since everyone agreed that IMD is so awesome, we stuck on aono and cast a critical ear over each track in reflection.

By the end we all agreed that some of it was good and some bad, most of us were talking about dropping certain tracks, changing them around, swapping them with b-sides from the same era like razor, back to skool, first warning, who u foolin, more girls, memphis bells (instrumental), spitfire 05, etc

There was even talk of dropping entire tracks like Get Up, Get Off and Hotride, (though i wanted to keep Shoot Down and Action Radar)

Most people think it was a mistake to have Twista and Juliet Lewis sing on it, apart from Spitfire of couse since her voice is processed.

What do you think Liam could do to improve it, the only reason im saying this is because of how confused other fans and casual fans were with that album (I was mostly defending it since i like every track apart from Get Up, Get Off and Hotride)

Also what alternate aono tracklisting with songs from the same era would you compile to improve it?

I'm still dreaming of a two disc release with these tracks on the 2nd disc....

Wake Up Call (Full Vocal Version)
Spitfire (05 Version)
Warning (2004 Vocal Version)
The Way it Is (Live Remix)
Spitfire (05 Version)
Hotride (Live Version)
Who u Foolin
Nuclear
Trigger
No Souvenirs
Dust Yoself

With expanded booklet and album artwork featuring a couple interviews with the band about the making off etc... etc... just a really cool for the fans edition.

Of course... it just aint gonna happen.. ever..

i know this is kinda irrelevant , but since we just got experience expanded and MMFTJG , why not a 2 disc of the fat of the land?

as for aono
- i would drop vocals from hotride ,shoot down, the other vocals on get up get off (not twista's)
- action radar sounds to me like something from junkie xl for some reason probably the vocals, otherwise i would like it

For me vocals can easily ruin a song and most times i would prefer none, however i love the vocals on every other prodigy release

AONO needs a major rework IMO , and it could be an awesome album ,
\Blacklabel has the right idea for tracks

Yeah the tracks themselves are great its the choice of vocals that let the album down, "too many" female vocals put me off, it detracts from the hard hitting instrumentation, darker male vocals / samples would have worked better. I hope liam understands that most Prodigy fans love all his work, just some vocals/samples sound out of place. Like for example the bit in action radar - "a little action is all i need" replace that with a darker male vocal to give it edge

I would be happy with a stripped down AONO with lots of the vocals takin off, so i can better hear the awesome meaty beats, synths and bass that are the core of those tracks. Keep some of the male vocals on there though makes it sound darker!

I always hoped the follow up to FOTL was gonna be more brooding and serious which it could have been if the female vocal were left off, and included tracks like 1999's "We Do what the Fuck we want" anyone ever heard that? it was the first post FOTL song i heard and i thought it was a real progression harder, darker with Maxim nearly sounding like a metal singer WOW check it when you get a chance!!

if they went more industrial you know like NIN's more electronic stuff, you know what i mean?. i hope someday the band release a really fucked up evil sounding dark record to follow up IMD to shock people, that what i wanna hear extreme prodigy at the limits!!

Hotride is the best track on AONO

nah. for me aono wasn't that bad, it was the choice of the trax that didnt work out. some of the b-sides, betas and live trax from that era were better than the trax on the album. hell even the loops on the website sounded better than some of the trax

i fink id prefer if liam just moved on, n forgot about all the shit in the past, its bad enough that he thought to dig out his old synths for this record. i fink if he tried to do this idea it would become a bad obsession and distraction.

metallica were going to re-record drums and guitar for st anger, and i understand why they didnt, it captured a moment, a vulnerable pathetic one, same with AONO in a way.

i dont wanna here any of the old unreleased tracks out of fear of being disappointed, i just want new improved shit!!

At the end of the day this is how i see it, it ain't ever gonna happen cuz liam said he is/was proud of that album, so i don't think he would wanna do it just for other people's sake

It should be left how it is. Theres things which i'd change on each album, but how would you feel if he went back and messed with all the tracks on Jilted? In my opinion it shouldn't be altered.

I like those female vocal parts, that makes the tracks sexy IMO

That's what I like about Piranha the best, even though it's hidden behind Maxim's voice! :-D (You'd better not lose control) - The controoool part is WAY too sexy. Jeeeez :-D

I'd keep AONO the same until up until Action Radar, then it drops in quality after that. Actually I'd change Hotride for the live verion. Put the remix of Under My Wheels on it from Their Law The Singles. Have Back To School on it instead of Phoenix. Either do some more work to Medusas Path or replace it with No Souvenirs. Keep the Way It Is but take off Shoot down and have Trigger instead. Also Girls needs to be a little louder in the mix, as does Memphis Bells. So basically...

Spitfire
Girls (a little louder in the mix)
Memphis Bells (a little louder in the mix)
Get Up Get Off
Hotride (live version)
Wake Up Call
Action Radar
No Souvenirs
Back To School
You'll Be Under My Wheels (remix from Their Law The Singles)
The Way It Is
Trigger

I usually play these tracks instead of the original AONO setup:

1. Spitfire (05 Version)
2. Girls
3. Memphis Bells (Instrumental)
4. Get Up Get Off
5. Hotride (El Batori Mix)
6. Wake Up Call
7. Action Radar
8. Medusa's Path
9. Who U Foolin'
10. (You'll Be) UNDER MY WHEELS (Alternate Version)
11. The Way It Is (Live Remix)
12. Guns (Rough Mix)
